Do you have any flat grassy area? Something like Rox & Ant's backyard? If so, you could do a rabbit tractor, or now here is a thought. Ant was talking to C'mon about building a rabbit tractor to use with his growouts. If you sectioned it off and went halves cost and space, you would only need it when you have growouts! The tarp covering the wire keeps them cool. And they pick their own fresh greens! ❤❤

@@bandltexas2425 I agree 💯%! I take all 3 every night at bedtime. I sleep deeper and my body pain is lower. Plus, I've finally built up my immunity to a Vitamin D blood result of 72.3! 70 is optimal. At one point, my result was 9. I was extremely deficient. Most Americans are, even those who get a lot of sun exposure. The magnesium helps me too, so much! I don't get those leg cramps and my muscles feel more relaxed. God bless you!

Ok, I would buy a tarp that has the reflective material on one side. Then cover both roofs and the garden-side end, strap it down really well so the wind can't rip it loose. For now hang fans blowing toward the lower tier. The wind should swirl around to help cool the grow outs as well. I would check Marketplace, Drew's local friends, to see if you can locate a "Swamp Cooler" (poor boy air conditioning)! Works great! Squirrel cage blowing a water mist, works great! ❤❤

Hi Gary and Mel, good morning guys. A suggestion;I like the idea of a tropical roof which was used in Australia on vehicles like land rovers, which operated in high heat areas. It is a roof built with an air space between the roof of the vehicle and the upper tropical roof, a roof over a roof. It allowed air movement and reduced the head baking heat. The idea may work for the hutches too.

Suggestions for the heat issue with the rabbits. Put a radiant barrier under metal roof, it looks high enough that the rabbits can't eat it. Or use a 90% shade cloth. The canopy will provide shade but doesn't really help with heat. I have used both with great success. Good luck with all your projects.

JudithB I spent 2.5 hrs in the garden them am, mostly weedeating the row walkways, and got the rest of the squash and melons planted Cleaned the hoop beds so I could plant them. Hopefully I get out early tomorrow and get the beans and pumpkins . . planted. Lot more pruning to do around the homestead and then start mowing next week. Its hot tho!!!

I’m on the west coast above Seattle and the time to plant peas is January or February as they them put down better roots before sprouting as they love cool. Lettuce like the same type and we even had potatoes accidentally left in the ground a couple times that sprouted and gave us early spuds. As you are south try planting early to see what happens👍🏻

Even if you still buy the feed and it’s not 100% pure benefit you control the quality of what you’re going to eat and that is worthless especially with poultry. Commercial chickens aren’t very good health wise ❤

I saw another site that used a water mister spraying for chickens & rabbits. Just to cool them not soak them? Is that mama the one that ate some of her babies? I hope not. Many years ago my Dad put my mama that did that in freezer camp because he was not feeding any rabbits to cannibalize their young. The bunnies you have are growing nicely. I hope the heat will not be an issue. Get a large fan to blow across the cages?

Look at this way a regular chicken in the store will cost you 7 something for one chicken That's one chicken okay say your feed what 20 bucks a bag you get three bags that's $60 now I don't know all the prices right on point but this is just an estimate now each one of them birds say they were $2 a piece and you got a hundred you had that cost plus your feed and you're still going to come out ahead because they have no processed injected hormones or anything else like that it's fresh you know what it ate your benefiting your bodies to a healthier chicken healthier eating for your whole family it's worth the cost to do it the way you're doing it then even to take them and have them bought from the store so you're going to pay way more through the store to get that many chickens in your freezer than you ever will doing it the way you're doing it and you're not paying no butchering fee because you're doing the butchering So you're way ahead in price altogether I love it
