The point of wrapping it in paper towels is because you wet it and it keeps the burrito from drying out. I freeze them in parchment but cooking it in that was a poor substitute to paper towels. Its advised to do it this way because its all around better.

That's so great! My mom didn't do well teaching me to cook...she was too much of a perfectionist. I learned from friends and on my own as an adult. My daughter has been helping cook since she was 2. She is now 15, and can cook pretty much as well as me. Letting them "help" from a young age pays off! My daughter was actually more of a help than hindrance by about 7 or 8. She starting getting her own snacks around age 2. She was good about asking first for what she needed to ask for.

I dice several onions and then store in a quart baggie in the refrigerator to use all week for several recipes. Just knowing I have diced onions motivates me to make something delicious. Once when we were going on vacation, I chopped up onions, peppers, and carrots and froze the. Because they wouldn’t be good when we returned. That worked well.

I just made a batch of breakfast burritos. I used eggs, cheese, turkey sausage crumbles in the mix. Then when I assembled them, I added picante sauce and a bit more cheese. I wrapped mine in foil then put into the freezer. When i heated it, removed the foil, then wrapped the burrito in paper towels for about 2 minutes. They were delish. The extra cheese and picante sauce added moisture as they have a tendency to dry out.

Great idea to put a grocery bag in the garbage bowl so that you can just tie it up and throw away. This is what I call smart and lazy. Smart because you can easily throw it away and lazy because you don’t have to wash the bowl. Since I only have a refrigerator/freezer, I usually only put leftovers in the freezer, like Taco Soup and red gravy. Once I made a meat loaf and cooked half and put the other half in the freezer. I think I will make up a few crock pot bags. It’s just me and hubby and a separate freezer is no longer needed. When our children were home, we had an extra freezer. Now, we make due with the freezer in our refrigerator.

My grandparents ONLY bought Miracle Whip. Which was ok for potato salad and sandwiches...not great on a tossed garden salad. Yuck! After my grandpa died, my grandma kept buying Miracle Whip. When I was 18 I was grocery shopping with her and convinced her to buy Ranch Dressing. She LOVED it, and for the rest of her life, that was the only salad dressing she would buy. I think she switched to whatever mayo was cheapest for sandwiches and potato salad. I buy Hellman's for mayo. Salad dressing, I usually make my own vinaigrettes, and I make my own coleslaw dressing using hellman's usually. We love caesar salad, but very rarely have it, so I just use a kit that comes with dressing.

I do something similar with the breakfast burritos, except i go ahead and wrap them in a papertowel then wrap with cling wrap and stick in a zippy bag. It keeps the cling wrap from sticking and if there's any moisture from the bag it catches in the papertowel and sort of steams the burrito when it cooks.

Greetings from Australia. We make Savoury French Toast here In our egg mixture we put Italian herbs ground to a powder and a dash of Worcestershire Sauce and a little milk. Keep your Serian Wrap - We Call ours Cling Wrap in the fridge makes it much easier to handle. Ranch dressing mixture - we can't buy it here so this is the recipe i use:- 1/2 Cup Dry Buttermilk, 2 tbs Dried Parsley, 1 tsp Dried Chives 2 tsp Garlic Powder, 2 tbs Onion Powder, 1 tsp Dried Dill, 1 tsp Kosher Salt, 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper, Pinch Of Cayenne Pepper, Optional. To make pizzas I chop all the ingredients in the veggie chopper e.g capsicum, red onion, mushroom, deseeded tomatoe, green shallots, fetta cheese baby spinach, sweet cherry tomatoes, diced chicken, oregano, mozzarella cheese and home made pizza sauce on split hotdog rolls that has been toasted. And yes Australians spell word differently and call fruit and veggie by different names. And in reply to those who are condemning the use of plastic. I was raised to be polite and use my manners you don't have the right to condemn any one for what the do or do not use or live their life. It is not polite to make the comments condemning some else. Have a happy day.

I didn't read through all the comments, so maybe this has already been said many times, but....you could just mix your sauce for the chicken right in the big baggie, then add your drumsticks. Saves washing one more dish!

Thanks for sharing these great freezer meal ideas. We love that vegetable chopper and we will order one soon. We only cook for two so we do a lot of freezer meals using our leftover casseroles. Marie and I have been watching your channel for years and love all of your videos. Have a fantastic weekend, Calvin and Marie

I am totally with you on the SPAM issue. I shutter when I think of it. Both my parents worked while I was growing up and my older sister would make us SPAM for dinner so often. And she made it every way possible.

French toast tip: lay the bread slices in a lasagne pan and pour the egg mixture over before cooking, you don’t have to spend so much time dipping in the bowl and the egg soaks in really well.

You could totally use butcher paper or parchment and a bit of masking tape to wrap the subs instead of all the plastic.

Hi Kimmy! I love watching your videos...I'm an empty nester at this point in my life but I still use so many of your tips and recipies. For myself I have the cutest mini crock pot and I make single crock pot portions and freeze them so I still eat well! It's not always a priority to cook for myself so these help and make sure I still get real meals! Also I still make a few big crock pot meals so when the kids , grand kids come by I have time to visit with them and not stuck cooking in the kitchen!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration.

Love the chicken recipes. I'm going to try them next time chicken is on sale. It's a good job Jonah wasn't raised with me. When I was a kid, my job after school sometimes was to bone meat and make hamburger. My Dad was a meat cutter at a local store here. To this day I love to get my hands in meat and smoosh it around. We have totally done away with white bread here at our house. We only use 100% whole wheat bread now. Better for us. And my husband is a meat and potato man. I wouldn't get away with having salads or rice etc all the time. He will eat them once in a while. As for PB&J sandwiches....don't frig with my sandwiches! I love my sandwiches! But they have to be only peanut butter or only jam... not both together. Yuck! lol!

Friday starts a weekend of food prep to take me through to end of October approx 80 days of food. Today I sat for 3 hours drawing up a meal plan then writing down ingredients required then a shopping list. Final step 85% of the required ingredients ordered. Some ingredients are needed fresh. Tomorrow will start drawing up a cooking plan to get everything done by Sunday.

Connie Blair in terms of what? Just cooking bacon in the oven, or with plastic wrap? Lol... I only cook bacon I. The oven. Sheet pan with a rack at between 325-350, depending on your oven. You’ll k ow when it’s done to your liking as you monitor it. I put foil on my pan, less mess, and I save the bacon grease
