When I was little it was toast with Vegemite on it so we could get to see the extended family and so my nan could give out her presents before most of us went to church. Now that I’m getting older it’s croissants with cheese and ham before a big lunch of salads, roast meat, some seafood and amazing Pavlova for dessert. Might seem strange to some but it’s summer here. Merry Christmas all, may the holiday season be peaceful and safe for everyone. 🎄🎄🤶🧑🎄🎅

Your German pancakes are known as Yorkshire Pudding in the UK. We serve it with roast beef dinner and lots of thick gravy. Fun fact. Love your recipes x

We live in Scotland UK. Christmas morning for my grandkids are pancakes with bacon ,the kids like maple syrup with their pancakes. Us adults want a full Scottish breakfast. Bacon, eggs, sausage, potato scones, fried bread, black pudding, sometimes haggis, fried mushrooms, never beans, that would make it a English breakfast lol. Merry Christmas when it comes xxx

The german pancakes surprised me 😄 I‘m a german living in Germany and I‘ve never seen pancakes made in a casserole dish here before. Maybe it‘s something more regional or more traditional 😊 (I‘m 36). You never stop learning 😄 Merry Christmas by the way 🎄✨

Christmas morning breakfast in my house is usually Bacon and Egg cooked on the barbecue on bread rolls with bbq sauce. As it is summer at Christmas time in Australia and I try and do most cooking outside. This year salads, prawns and cold cooked meats. With trifle, pavlova and plum pudding for sweets.

I have a couple no-milk drinkers in my family. One year I was talked into buying a big jug of dairy free egg nog and no one liked it. I used it in eggnog quick bread (SO yummy), French toast a couple times, and I think pancakes…I can’t remember. Anyway, if it’s a sweet recipe the eggnog works well in place of milk or heavy cream (but it doesn’t whip). 😁

Not sure if anyone else already mentioned this tip but when you're making the French Toast, tilt your pan a bit either way and use a turkey baster to suck up the egg/milk mixture and then just squirt it all over the bread. I think it would be faster than using a big spoon to try and collect the liquid.... Looked delicious, by the way!

Christmas morning breakfast for us is usually homesmoked salmon on homemade English muffins with hollandaise sauce and a poached egg. For Boxing Day, we love a sweet breakfast- usually pancakes or french toast. I will be testing the French toast casserole in the next few days! Thanks for sharing and God bless you!

Christmas morning breakfast for my family is usually crumpets with whatever anyone likes as topping. I prefer mine with butter and raspberry conserves, my boyfriend loves his with a thin layer or marmite and a cheddar cheese slice (melted a little) yum yum.

HOLY CRAP!! The holiday Nog! I carry it at my store and we weren't able to order it this year b/c it was discontinued in Canada! People were still buying up the last of what I had ordered in the Spring (yes I was still ordering it then - it was the last of their stock and I know people who use it for Pina Colada mixer so I bought it for the summer). They are even asking to purchase the stuff I have that is past the date (from Apr 2023)!

you could let the German pancakes go cold, here they are known as Yorkshire puddings here in England they are great with strawberry Jam as well as with a beef dinner. I love pancakes best with jam or orange. Also nice with berries. xxx

Kimmy. I love the German recipes that you share. My mom and grandmother are gone and so are the recipes they use to cook and I sure do miss them. Does Derricks family have a German Style Potato Salad recipe? I would love a video of you making some of his family’s favorites. Just the thought brings wonderful memories of days gone by.

These look great, especially the pancakes. I’m a pancakes girl. I have to have golden syrup on them tho rather than maple syrup, as it makes me feel sick. In the UK every February we have Pancake Day, in which we have pancakes for tea etc. The German pancakes are what we in the UK call Yorkshire puddings. We usually have them with roast beef, or you can put jam etc on them. Years ago my Mum, Dad & myself used to have Danish pastries & croissants for our breakfast on Christmas Day. The only problem is that I was still too full up for my dinner at 2,00 etc, so often had it later or on Boxing Day. What exactly is egg nog? I’ve never seen it in the UK.
