Shettima Cancels Trip Amid Concerns Over Tinubu’s Absence+Peter Obi Faults Lagos Deportation|OjyOkpe

The whereabouts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has taken center state, on social media, after Vice President Kashim Shetima canceled his trip to the United States on Monday, citing a fault in the presidential aircraft.
The Vice President was originally scheduled to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit, hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa.
The intended trip would have left the country without a president and a vice in charge, eliciting reactions from a cross section of Nigerians, including Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who in a post on X, asked, if it was right to assume that Nigeria was on autopilot?
In a twist of events, the vice president’s media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, in a statement said, Shettima was unable to make the trip following a technical fault with his aircraft, forcing him to make a detour on the advice of the Presidential Air Fleet, adding that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar will now represent the President at the high profile Summit in Dallas, Texas, while the Vice President will carry on with other national duties.
Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, on monday, opened up about the peace accord brokered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the political crisis that erupted in the State last year, calling it unconstitutional.
Fubara made the comments when he received a delegation of political and traditional leaders, from Bayelsa state.
The Governor also slammed the members of the State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule, and declared that the 27 lawmakers do not exist anymore in the eyes of the law.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reacted to reports, alleging that the Lagos state government is deporting alleged miscreants reported to be indigenes of Osun state, from Lagos to the Ilesa area of the State.
Over the weekend, reports emerged online, stating that the Nigeria Police Force, in conjunction with the Lagos State Task Force, deported hundreds of residents using luxurious buses from the streets of lagos, and dumped them in Osun State.
In a statement released by Adeleke’s media Aide, both governors have interfaced and have expressed concern over the report. Adeleke has urged Sanwo-Olu to look into the report, and put an end to it if the report were to be true.
Sanwo Olu on the other hand has denied ever authorising such an action, and promised an immediate investigation.

What hurts me most when I listen to people like him especially politicians is that most of them are not poor. You can't excuse them with poverty which Politicians has weaponized in Nigeria, that someone will sell his vote for #5000. Some protest for same politicians whom they know made their lives miserable for them not to be arrested for money because they are hungry. Some still buy cheap ethnicity and religious talks (even when no religion nor ethnic group buys bread cheaper like Peter Obi will always say) and they suffer for 4years because they are not educated. You can't make any of those excuses for Bwala. He can do the right thing and still leave fine. I am still in shock how he left Atiku for Tinubu's money after elections. He is doing his job shamelessly. He can say that white is red in public and feel no shame. The wickedness of the heart of man. Selfishness and greed. Unfortunately, most Nigerians are Bwalas. Just give them the opportunity and you will see. If we all, mostly obedients, who wish for a better Nigeria start living a life-like Peter Obis' in our everyday activities, especially our work places, it would go a long way in bringing the change we need.

No other president will be attending the summit in Dallas. The question arises: why does it have to be the President or Vice President of Nigeria? Many African countries have sent their ministers and representatives from the private sector to Dallas for this summit. Nigeria should learn from this and send representatives and private sector delegates to such events instead of using government funds to sponsor the attendance of the President or Vice President.

He didn’t mean the Rivers House of Assembly does not exist but that those members who defected have constitutionally lost their position and that they are still sitting there because he has not taken the step to have the constitution enforced.
