It’s so much better than what it used to be. I remember the earlier versions of wired joints were too soft on the texture and u can visually see the bend marks. This one is different when it comes with the material. I need to do some research but from what I see it would last, even with active posing🔥

Great video! Nice to see someone taking the time to explore a figure and figure out how the joints work. A lot of people nowadays complain when a figure is barely out of the box. They haven’t even begun to explore what the figure can actually do and the second something doesn’t work for them it’s bad. So many people complained about the Wano Luffy not being able to do a Gear 2 pose. Yeah, he can. And a pretty damn good one at that. The only thing he can’t do is look up high enough but head down it’s perfect. Even Zoro who is an absolute pain in the butt can be posed in a wide stance if you take your time to learn the articulation. I don’t take such complaints seriously until I hold the figure in hand.

Thank you! I agree w u! That’s one thing I wanna do differently in my reviews. I think some failed to realize that there’s a whole team behind the creation of a figure. Criticizing other ppl’s creations is something I’m always careful about. At the end of the day it’s a business and sometimes they might need to leave some rooms for their next project. Flaws are unavoidable. I’m frustrated too sometimes but I try to focus on the positive side🤣

Great video! What bothers me A LOT is that they could just reuse previous Luffy hips, sandals and even regular arms which have great range but decide not to maybe to justify the price?

Honestly, it doesn't look like a really good figure. Sux that the straw hat crew articulation (minus sanji) are worse than 20 dollar marvel legends.

Yes but it’s tricky to take off the torso connection part for Gear 5. I didn’t do it but do be careful when proceeding 💪

I just noticed all the wrist pegs and ankles don't want to rotate. Are they fixed in place, meaning only the hinge works?

So basically the rotating part got "transferred" to the knees and elbows. Since the arms and legs don't have a front and back, you can rotate it to the angle you want first before bending the wires. It takes some time to get used to but it definitely wasn't a downgrade💪

Best review I've seen so far for this figure. The regular Luffy is similar. People trash the articulation, and for sure it could be better, but he does actually pose pretty well, you just need to get a little creative with how you do it. Already got Gear 5 ordered, the more I see it, the more I love it.

There’s no “supposed to” in my opinion 😆 One of fun things of collecting is that u can mix them up however u want! The heads of the Gear 5 and Regular Luffy are compatible cuz they use the same joint part. As for techniques for taking them off, I would suggest looking for the right angle to pull and u should be fine🙌

No not at all! But do be careful when posing the wired joints since they’re harder to bend. The cloud effect is kinda fragile and gets in the way sometimes

interesting they used bendy on this gear 5 luffy this typeof articulation reminds of the old Joyride Studios Sonic and Shadow action figures where their limbs are bendy.

Instead of bendy wires i would of prefered alternate arms and legs that were pre posed in insane poses and stretched. This is a cool gimmick but that material doesnt age well. And bendy wires tend to always be issues over time. Cool ideas but it doesnt work for me
