Machine Shop Line Shaft lathe and drill press tools, power punch, radial drill

Here is a 60 year collection of heavy industrial machine shop tools operated by line shafts, powered by an electric motor. Includes a shaper, hammer, drill press and lathes run by a Wagner Electric Motor. Power up the motor, throw the clutch and you are in business.

+Chris Anderson very cool, have you uploaded any video about it? I personally have been doing to school for machining at a vocational school for 2 years and am just about to go to college for it. As much as I love the old stuff CNC is where manufacturing is so school it is for now. Good luck with you machine.

what a wonderful shop, I hope to build one even half as nice, Ive been collecting and rebuilding antique tools for a few years now with which to do it, have a drill press, a power hacksaw, and recently got a suitable lathe and some line shaft for the cause.

I hope that "Jim" has made plans for this wonderful shop to keep it going after he has passed on. Perhaps an antique machining society or association with members that continue to service and use these machines. Something non-profit so that donations can be given.

Do you think he ever gets the urge to laugh real scary like when he starts it up? The motors we build at Baldor don't have the open endplates like this but I'll bet he could pick up a 5 horse cheap enough; if the customer value on our computers reflect actual customer cost.

nah bro, that was just a "Radial arm Drill press" their still made today, in large quantity's, the original milling machine was a hammer , cold chisel and a set of file's and scrapers =)

No he was born in New Jersey with family from Owosso, MI. Moved to Owosso as a kid.
