It's about time; handling the mother dog's urine and feces is becoming overwhelming, and the dirt on the pet sheets is becoming noticeable. Furthermore, with the prolonged heat, it's a challenging season for the puppies who struggle with regulating their body temperature. Despite these challenges, I'll introduce some convenient items to provide a comfortable environment for our dogs.
1. Thick pet sheets to reduce the hassle of changing.
2. Inexpensive plastic lattice to maintain cleanliness.
3. Utilizing cooling packs from a 100-yen shop for a comfortable coolness even in the intense heat.
As for 1. Although the cost of the thicker pet sheets is higher than regular ones, they have superior absorbency, ensuring cleanliness even with an increase in puppy urine.
As for 2, leaving the pet sheets soiled with urine for too long isn't ideal, hence the necessity of lattice. While replacements are available in stores or online, they can be quite expensive, costing around 1,000 yen for one. Therefore, by cutting the bottom of a 100-yen shop plastic basket, you can create a lattice. If the lattice surface gets dirty, it can be easily wiped clean, maintaining hygiene.
As for 3, additionally, cooling packs from the 100-yen shop can provide a cool environment for heat-sensitive puppies. Even at our house without an air conditioner, rotating the packs four times a day at the entrance ensures a consistently comfortable environment. However, due to frequent replacements, it's challenging to wash them each time. Therefore, covering them with a plastic bag to prevent soiling is necessary. To prevent both soiling and excessive cooling, wrapping them with pet sheets is essential, which requires considerable effort. Especially when replacing it before bedtime, it doesn't retain the coolness until morning, necessitating an early-morning change. This resulted in unstable sleep patterns and fatigue for a while. It would be helpful if the cooling duration lasted about eight hours, even if the cost were slightly higher.
