Arifureta ended up going a similar route as shield hero unfortunately. I agree though gave me feels on a different level than that of shied hero.

I agree that this is a good isekai, if you're tired of the harem and OP shit. They made a somewhat realistic world in an isekai, but what is sad is the hate and the corruption feels held back, and it's somewhat cartoonic for villains, which gives us an effect of nostalgia, which is good. Not gonna lie this is one of the isekai i really like cause i like a protagonist that says fuck all and i dont give a shit about you, just give me what i want. I agree its a good isekai a

The hate is more profound in the manga and LN but still I hate the fact they end up changing the MC after the hate fact has played its part. Of course this might be because the author aren’t confident in going down this route and end up going down a more generic route away from all the doom and gloom towards a more well generic storyline. Same happens in arifureta as well but it was still in enjoyable to read it just didn’t give me that feeling I always get when I delve into a fucking amazing anime/manga.

I’ve not seen the entire anime, just read the novels, and I disagree this is an Usurper. Shield is quite down the list in my book. The closest heir in my liking is Overlord for now, but King remains Re: Zero at the top of Isekai animes yet. But I second that dude who claimed Kumo desu ga nani ka is very likely the next Usurper. Having read shield, re:Z & Kumoko, I believe Kumoko in the books is the best Isekai ever. But let’s see how they animate her. I’m quite bummed by the CGI

Yes I agree with it being best for the first arc which you can sum up as pretty much after the 3 hero’s pope disaster fight after that we get melts becomes the bitch and well his rage is quelled to an extent and then it’s just your generic isekai after that. To be fair though I’ve had bad experiences with MCs who’s main weapon is the shield in the past but even after the first arc I could still enjoy the manga/anime.

i disagree on the animation point, its extremely mediocre, this is the same animation studio that made Made in Abyss, which was praised for it's excellent animation. Feels like Kinema just decided that they could do just enough for people to not complain and let the source material carry the show. And god damn that CGI is painful. Love the story but damn does the animation pull this show down
