Mam due to over sun exposure , salt content of the soil also increases as evaporation takes place so mulching will be beneficial for maintaining soil alive .

Mossrose,portulaca this plants have fiberess roots/shallow roots hence they don't damage the big plants roots infact they both collaborate and we can get more flowers infact big size flowers as well. These mulch plants roots are on the top surface and don’t travel deep enough for depletion of nutrients for the main plant. I have spread this plant all over my terrace garden. Many a times it looks similar to green lawn also. My children made Ganapati idol using this Tutrtle vine plant a couple of years back
