Shulem’s voice is effortless and beautiful. I’ve listened to this over and over and don’t have a clue what the words mean, as a Scottish woman who can’t speak Hebrew/Yiddish, see I don’t even know what language it is! Very bad. But I don’t think you need to know what the words mean because the music transcends words and Shulem’s voice transcends everything.

Sorry that you live in a difficult place. The song is from a prayer said on the Saturday, 5 weeks before Passover. The prayer asks G-d to remember to bring the redemption, if not for our sake, then for the sake of Jerusalem, which will always be remembered (as a holy city).
