13:21 Shift 2 is underrated as f in my opinion. It's got epic soundtrack list, great sense of speed, along with the dramatic and mature vibe which I really like. I had just as much fun playing this game as I did playing Grid Legends. The only two complaints that I had was the steering input delay trying too hard to be realistic (making it controller-unfriendly) and the lack of third-person camera options. Fortunately you can fix the steering issue by changing some values in the config files and by messing with the in-game settings, so that takes care of that complaint. Although I can see why the majority of NFS community felt alienated by this game, this is definitely more tailored towards the GT-FM audience. Also, that steering looks incredibly smooth at 18:37, might have to give this mod a try for myself.

i hate the fact the people think NFS should not have track racing , let me remind you , race way 1 , 2 , 3 from high stakes , monte carlo's for NFS 5 NFS prostreet , nfs is NOT just blackbox era , its a mix of all great things , there is something for everyone , if you want just a copy of MW , over and over and over , people will just leave and hate the game , just like forza horizon, nfs fans should always look to improve the game , not stick to one , thats what makes nfs special , its ALL

What I really like about SHIFT 2 Unleashed is that it can still run in a freakin' Intel Core2Duo and 2GB of RAM. And if you installed UCP, NTM mod, and PTMu mod, you will experience close to realism with authentic racing experience.

Underrated game / series that deserved some hate but were both decent platforms for modding. As someone who likes making liveries, I spent a ton of time with Shift 1 making drift car liveries. With mods, both games were not only passable, but good. GTR2 is the only racing game I have spent more time with. Even Assetto Corsa has less time in it than Shift series.

for windows 11 users the mod require the install of UCP which needs to run though power shell and this DOES NOT work on widows 11 as of now. so if you planning on getting the game for this mod only wait for now.

Some people able to install the UCP on W11 by just run the program without powershell or Run as Administrator. But still, if you're lucky. Also, don't expect the author of the UCP to update the tool, cause he's pretty much done with Shift 2 modding.

this issue now fixed you just need to replace quickbms which is given with UCP with the least version of quickbms and don't run UCP_s2u_unpacker as admin and be sure that the game isn't in the program files as this also brake the mod

I always use a community patch from shortly after release of the game which removes the input lag. All it needed for me back then to like Shift 2.

btw about pirating games, shift 2 is from that dark time when developers tried to make pirates life worse and it was different from game to game, for example in some pirate versions of shift 2 games just literally says in the main menu something like "fuck you fucking piece of shit..." in other versions game was playable, but when you tried to use steering wheel game didnt have an option for steering angle, which it has in license version or for example arma 2 from that time had broken shooting in pirate versions, when you shoot and bullets just go everywhere except where you aimed
