Thats a dope shifter kart build, very nice. Shifter Kart needs to be re-geared for the 450, its setup for the 125. Change Sprockets, should be a rocket afterwards.

Gives me ptsd!!!! Reminds me of the time my buddy brought his old school go cart camping swapped out with a 160hp snowmobile engine and I was the first to drive it!!! We were at fossil creek here in Az and the switch backs have 500 ft cliffs with no guard rails, the first corner the brake cable snapped and I was in god mode trying to keep from dying. Every corner I had to do a few dusty donuts and pray I was pointed in the right direction when I came out. This went on for 3 miles and a couple dozen corners! Tried to reach back and pull spark plugs a couple times, but every time I got more out of control(if you could call it that). When I got back to camp, all my bros were rollin, and said I was the craziest sob ever, they had set the hole thing up(minus the brake cable)to see if I’d do it! Assholes almost killed me but then they reminded me that I had almost killed my self a ton of times doing crazy stuff! As far as I know nobody has tried taming that thing since(definitely not on that hill). But hay, only live once and why do it like a bitch, right!!!?!!!?

The reason the gears are short is because the gears are designed for the large diameter bike tire. If you were to put like 12 to 15 inch tires and a larger driven sprocket on it, you will get more speed

The Biggest Improvement I Evern made to my 1975 C-65 Chevy with a 427 Gas engine was to put and HEI Distributor. That is besides also using a 4.25" Stroker Crank Crower roads and a torquer cam . Mich Higher compression ration better MPG

I'm a Yamaha tech. And the reason the 450 instantly bounces off of the rev limiter is because without the airbox and filter the engine is going lean at high rpms. So it's not bouncing off the rev limiter at first. At mid rpm the engine is going lean and breaking up and then bouncing off the limiter.

I put a 400 cc Rotax dirtbike engingine on a Zip superkart once. It was incredible! I used just laugh like crazy all the way around the track. The 1st corner always belonged me!

You guys should take those karts to New Castle race park. It’s by Indianapolis Indiana. It’s a 1 mile sprint track. One of the nicest badass karting tracks in the country. It’s owned by comet kart. They also rent karts there. It’d make great video content. Or go to road America when they race karts there. 120mph in a shifter kart no other feeling like it.
