Key to Kung Fu what is a kung fu punch? All humans punch the same way, their isn’t a Japanese way to punch, or a Chinese way to punch, or a western way to punch. It’s just how the human body can generate more power. Shifu Yan Lei is stepping into his punch to add his body weight power.

@@ericdelpiano8552 That is not correct. In kung fu you gain contact to the opponents front arm from the outside then grab and pull this arm and punch with the other. .... You are sealing the opponent arms all the time. Kung fu is not kickboxing

Key to Kung Fu All martial arts that’s standing is technically kickboxing. There isn’t a style in China that can beat the style of SanDa and they utilize kicks from Chinese martial arts, and wrestling from Chinese martial arts. The boxing is inspired from the west, but a punch is a punch bro. Your talking about trapping an opponents hand down as you punch. This is something high level boxers do. It’s not a “kung fu punch” because they use frames and hand traps, the punch is still the same and so are the body mechanics behind the punch whether u trap the persons hand or not. For every style, we punch using the power from the ground transferring it through your waste and hips, then through our upper back and through our arms. Bruce lee taught us that style is a pure illusion just like skin color or anything we use to separate eachother. If there was anything else that really was different from boxing we would see it in Muay Thai, sanda, kickboxing or mma. Everything gets destroyed by clean boxing because boxer waste no movement and I always see a traditional guy swing his arms around and has no fight IQ.
