He has severe anxiety and didn’t perform for years. He wrote tons of No. 1 songs for other people. It took his wife to convince him to sing himself. He was so anxious she had to always stand next to him looking straight at him so he would relax. He’s amazing and she has a beautiful voice herself.

He’s very shy. He was a song writer for years before his wife Morgane was able to encourage him to perform his own songs. He has really bad stage fright so she’s usually right there, and is a talented singer in her own right. She sings backup on a lot of his songs. One of my favorite recordings is Chris and his wife and a bass player singing the song Amanda at the Grand Old Opry.

Chris Stapleton wrote songs for many other artists as well as his songs being covered by other artists. A few were even co-written or collaborated with other artists or songwriters. He was well known by many before winning ten "CMA" (Country Music Awards) and five Grammy Awards and seven Academy of Country Music Awards, also known as the ACM Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and nine ASCAP Country awards (The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers). Here are a few going back to abt 2003? Blake Shelton ("Ready to Roll", "100 Miles", "Never Lovin' You") Adele ("If It Hadn't Been for Love") Thomas Rhett ("Crash and Burn", "Something to Do With My Hands.") Kenny Chesney ("Never Wanted Nothing More") Joss Stone ("Don't Start Lying to Me Now") Ashley Monroe ("Winning Streak") Sheryl Crow (feat. Zac Brown) ("Homesick") George Strait ("Love's Gonna Make It Alright", "You Don't Know What You're Missing.") Josh Turner ("Your Man", "Lovin' You on My Mind," "Deeper Than My Love", "Another Try") Alison Krauss & Union Station ("Miles to Go") Lee Ann Womack ("There's More Where That Came From", "Either Way") Darius Rucker ("Come Back Song", "Forever Road") Gary Allan ("Hangover Tonight", "Drinkin' Dark Whiskey") Steel Magnolia ("Keep on Lovin' You") Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton (“Draggin’ the River.”) Little Big Town ("Front Porch Thing", "Rain on a Tin Roof", "Why, Oh Why.") Alan Jackson ("Talk Is Cheap", "Gonna Come Back as a Country Song") Charles Kelley ("Lonely Girl") Tim McGraw ("Whiskey and You") Luke Bryan ("Drink a Beer") Brad Paisley ("The Best Thing That I Had Goin'") Miranda Lambert ("Nobody's Fool") Trace Adkins ("Swing") Brooks & Dunn ("Independent Trucker" Travis Tritt ("Small Doses") Montgomery Gentry ("I Got Drunk") ALSO of note Chris was in two bands prior to starting a solo career (The Steeldrivers & The Jompson Brothers).

@@ifeeltheneedfospeed2339 being a part of a band is not the same as being a solo artist. he was fine writing and playing with a band because the spotlight wasn't fully on him. he's a shy person but loves music. glad his talent is being recognized.
@ifeeltheneedfospeed23393 жыл бұрын
@@sersastark as someone who has been in a bluegrass band i can say yes and no. Basically everyone has a solo at some point in almost every song. I know he isn't the biggest fan of having all of the spotlight on him, but he's not a stranger to it.
@seanscanlon90673 жыл бұрын
Even being in a band though the focus tends to be more on the lead singer and there are solo artists that have had the same backing band for years too so that it almost feels like they are in a band, yet when performing live there probably is not too much difference between the focus being on the band's singer or the solo artist singer with a backing band. Either way, I suspect Chris's main issue from before was that he did not mind writing (either for himself or his bands or others to record) or playing live or recording, and it was more the other outside obligations that he would have been reluctant to do, such as larger scale interviews and other media promotions.
