True Naming as a magic system in and of itself was something Ursula K. Le Guin popularized with her Earthsea books - though it originates in deeply old real-world religious and folk practices - by knowing the True Name of a subject, object, or phenomena mages gain power over it. It's an interesting system, largely because while it gives its mages so much fundamental power over the world the main concern of the story is acquiring the wisdom necessary to not abuse it.

It's also present in the kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan, for the Egyptian mages. Although it s not their main system and is more an ultimate trump card(if an ennemy has your true name he just has you dead to rights , while it requires immense trust to give it to an ally since it says everything about you

Doug Ramsey AKA Cypher. He’s a X-Man (New Mutant to be exact 🤓) with the ability to speak any language. A much more nerfed version of what this guy can do but it’s the closest I can think of. Great video by the way. Love you talk about the greater Type Moon lore.

There's an anime called "is that a zombie" in which the necromancer who resurrects the main character refuses to speak and only writes to communicate because any noise she verbally makes causes the world to change accordingly. The villain is actually a side effect casualty of her words because she tells him to live and then disappears and he was no longer able to die. So he watched everyone he knew and love die over the years and went crazy. Which is why she becomes essentially mute cause she's afraid of the side effects of her words.

There is this character from the Bleach series named Ichibei who is the leader of the Royal Guard aka the Zero Division. He has the ability to manipulate the names of others, changing them however he wants and effecting his target's strength because of the change in name. An example is during his fight with the Quincy King, he changes the King's name to "Ant"; the King literally becomes as strong as an actual 🐜 😅.

There a character in Jujutsu Kaisen that's haves a ability thats allows him to use his voice to fight, however due to this he can't have normal conversation with people and can only talk via saying the ingredients of onigiri.

He doesn't use his voice to fight he uses absolute commands to fight. If he says gun people don't get shot.

@@JustAutistic no… his ct is simply just powered through his words, so anything he says (if it can be interpreted as a “command”) makes the individual act it out or whatever. Unless Gege decides to change that bc for some reason there’s literally no info on the cursed speech users clan.

True name magic is also featured in the kingslayer chronicles. Where the scum bag protagonist spent a great deal of time trying to wrestle the wind's true name from a even more scumbag mage.

Quescion what is gate of babelon limit from my understanding it contain sum total of human knolage it has wepons and some technology but what about more abstrakt tuning like marsial art are ther some book the same with music or is stram lind to his head what about one of a cind like gem sword 7 taboos and back to abstrakt thing tsunama geisi or muashi technik its in his head is three a book of scroll or a enchanted sword with the technik?
