Phonon is more like a hybrid zoner and rushdown. It's kinda painful to play vs her when you don't know what she does. She's also really fun to play

Question for anyone who knows more about this than I do, how balanced is Under Night exactly? IIRC, Gordeau is top tier, while Phonon is second to last, only above Waldstein. Is it just that there are very slight differences, and the characters are too similar for a tier list to really matter, or is this just a really skilled Phonon player?

The tier list can shift depending on the skill levels of the players involved. A character might seem top tier at first, but once you figure out your character's solution to the problem. On the flip side, something might be strong at high level play, but a newbie button-masher who doesn't even know to respect your options can potato through it to a win.

Almost all the characters get to see top 8 action. Extremely balanced in general and the GRD patches up any holes.

Ltp said that after the match that that was a string that was really difficult for gord to get out of. In my experience, either mistiming the shield or reacting just frames late after shielding means that you either yet shield broken or counter hit
