Shikra with garden lizard kill

Shikra feeding on garden lizard kill - recorded in GMERS Medical College Campus, near my residence, Gujarat, India.
Shikra is a common, widespread resident bird of prey in India. It hunts for a wide variety of prey all over the campus area. It's amazing to watch how it quickly dashes out from perches to catch its prey like pigeons, swallows, bird chicks, squirrels, and even small reptiles. Its hunting skills are impressive to see in action.
Here Shikra is simply enjoying its Oriental garden lizard (Calotes versicolor) meal. 😋
