I got a couple of 4000oc reels to go with my barbel rods, very solid reels. The only let down is there is no spare spools, so I may switch to Daiwa for my next purchase.

am kinda confused I thought you would get less yards using mono and more using braided line

the reason you get less is one is 20lbs and the mono is only 10lbs. 10yds less for twice the strength. the specs the guy gives is what the box says. The box says 20lb power pro 190yds. It is good to note that if you try to put 10lb andes or berkley or similar lines you will be horribly mistaken if you think that you will get 200 yards of that on it, unless you're stretch the line super tight on to the reel and you ends up with an explosion off your reel when you cast. the 10lbs of mono that is equivalent to power pro 20lbs is the thinner stretchier mono like the blue line put out by j-line. Much thinner profile much stretchier and very very durable due to the stretch, but massive amounts of kink memory. Not as available every where either like danielson and andes and berkley/trilene line. the power pro actually says 20# is similar to 6# line which is true if we consider the typical thick mono line.

The live liner feature is much better and adjustable on the Shimano. I love both though.

Supermike tbh I had both sold the penn & I’m a penn fan since I started fishing 🎣 but tbh no one makes a bait runner better than shimano 😝 reels only high end tank that’s penn 😜
