Line cap measurements are actually in metres not yards.

Thanks, didn’t realise that. doesn’t make too much difference though, a yard is very close to a metre 👍

Nice review, these are my current choice in reels as someone relatively new to fishing. I've not actually been able to use the drag system to full effect yet as I'm going through something of a blank-fest lol but it's nice to see an in depth look at it from someone else's perspective. Hope you do some more kit reviews fella!

Hi, I can completely recommend these reels 5 months on, and they have held up brilliantly! Ive got some more reviews on the way, so hopefully they can help you! Goodluck and tighlines

I've got 4 St 6000rb reels. Had them for 2 years. You're correct about the reels being the same as the 10000. You can just buy a 10000 spool and click it straight into your reel if you need the extra distance. I use mine carp fishing and I'm constantly on the move on my lake. My reels haven't had an easy life. They spend most of their time on the ground, which is made up of small path stones and dirt/mud due to the constant rain we have in wales. Not proud of this but... I haven't serviced the 4 I have other than put fresh line on the spools. Yet they still feel as solid as the day I bought them. No are they scratched to dead or missing black paint. Well worth the money if you're looking for a good/reliable bait runner that won't break the bank.

Nice review. I've just got the ST 10000 RB and the line cap is 0.30-500 0.35-350 0.40-250 thanks again 👍

nice review mate, just one question. would you be able to put a 10000 spool on to the 6000 reel ? you also helped me with the rear drag, was a bit confused with that lol
@BarneyFishing3 жыл бұрын
I’m glad i could help you! I’m not sure about the swapping spools, but I am pretty sure the reels are the same size, it’s just that the spool is deeper, so I would say yes to that.

same bought two last year and I couldnt work out why there was two dials on the back never noticed one was for freespooling👍I also never worked out that the switch on the bottom was for backreeling. caught a few wind knots on my first use because I had that switch on. thanks for the video!

Are these reels quiet big for carp fishing?
@BarneyFishing2 жыл бұрын
they’re not too bad, i use them on 10ft rods but they work equally as well on shorter stalking rods and 12 footers.

is the body plastic?

It’s a bit of both. It’s very hard wearing though and solid as you like. Mines still going strong after repeated use.
