Shimano Casitas VS SeaKnight Falcon (reel comparison/review)

I am always one looking for more cost friendly rods and reels. Well in my search I came across a company by the name of "Seaknight" I checked out some of their products and the Falcon caught my eye! I thought id make a comparison video with the Seaknight Falcon, and the Shimano Casitas. I think the results may shock you! take a watch!

I own the (NEW) SeaKnight Red Fox, Shimano Curado k, and the Shimano Citica 200. I got the new Red Fox from Sea Knight last week and tore it down on the bench along side the Citica and it has an exact copy of Shimano's SVS Ifinity breaks in it and the company is now using the term "X Ship" in some of their advertising :o So I took them fishing (btw I was one of the first people to buy 2 SK Falcons 3 years ago before they went to split spool shafts like now.) with the Falcon along side of course and man was I hummbled. I kept finding myself picking up the RF and the next bite I get, I CRACKED that fish and it started pulling drag and I was waiting on some catastrophic internal failure to happen as I just stared at the spool as line was being pulled into the river current. Ended up being a 10+ pound freshwater drum that thumped my jig. lol! If you get a chance to pick one of those Red Fox, do it and then do a comparison against the Curado or Citica and the results may just surprise you? Hint: I would contact SeaKnight beforehand with your intentions and they might just supply the reel. ;)

So would you say the RedFox is better than the Falcon? and if so, which do you think is the main reason? Thanks man..! I’m just about to order one but I’m still unsure if the centrifugal brakes of the RedFox beat the magnetic ones from the Falcon and if both frames and gears are strong enough to endure a few years. ✌🏼🕶 Cheers..!

A nice comparison...but it surprised me with the performance , budget equipment is not inferior in quality to branded products ... I honestly recommend it ... learning cating fishing was a pleasure ... I will add that I also fish with it with UL kit :D because you can buy an additional shallow spool. But this is only for crazy perches xD. I recommend if you like your own money not thrown away. one more.. I have been fishing with it for a year and I have no objections as to durability ... but remember about maintenance and cleaning

for the money the falcon is better than any of the budget options from the bigger fishing companies, performance wise its comparable to mid level doyo made reels(abu, lews... pure fishing), plus it looks like a chronarch mgl from a distance, only question is durability, ill see if mine lasts.

Doyo reels are far better than Shimano, even in the top price line. Shimano lives from it's past name, reducing the quality of their reels, with several plastic pieces, live worm-shafts and gears.

I would say for the price the sea knight. But for proven long lasting gear, the shimano. I’m still unsure how the sea knight will hold up a year from now.
