It is still possible to birds nest, for anyone who was confused. This is a properly dialed in curado. Is the breaks are all the way down and you try this, you’re gonna have a bad day

Yeah thats what happens when your spool tension is tight, the dc system doesnt brake completely and it would break if it tried to on that cast with normal tension.

Yeah, the reel barely makes a sound and it doesnt hit the wall as hard as it should have. He tightened up the spool tension so hard, the cap probably got busted.

Assuming that it does work, there was clearly a massive failure somewhere either in marketing or instructions. Marketplace is littered with these reels, everybody seems to be convinced that they are a failure. I'm seeing SLXDC's and CorradoDCs for less than half the price with only a few casts on them. I won't be the first to write them off immediately as I'm sure Shimano worked hard on these but there needs to be a serious discussion about engaging customers on getting the settings right because for the most part, people are selling them just as quick as they bought them.
