I liked my slx dc 150hg so much that I ordered a JDM slx dc 71hg. I like the cleaner finish of the JDM slx dc much more but it does have a smaller line capacity

Thanks for watching and yeah I was under that impression too that it couldn’t do it but if the tension is dialed up a lot more than the instructions say it won’t backlash. It comes at a sacrifice of cast distance though which is the prime benefit of the IDC4 system. I think I found a good middle spot now though. In the future I’ll put out a tips video for this reel so we can unlock its full potential!

By who? The owners manual specifically states that you CAN backlash this real, no baitcaster is completely backlash proof. However, i keep my slx dc on setting 2 since i use braid, and i find that i don't backlash nearly ever, and don't have to thumb the spool at all, if you're using setting 1, even with the DC system you will backlash every time if you dont use your thumb.

Not gonna lie. I just started fishing again last year after about 35 years of not fishing. I've spent a small fortune on baits and tackle and lures and shit and I decided that I needed a SLX DC 150 XG because I can't use a baitcaster to save my life AND I love the sound/tech. (Early onset Parkinson's is a BITCH.) Thanks for the effort. Good luck with the channel, little brother!

Just picked up the slx dc 7.4-1 and been outside in the yard casting with a weight every chance I get lol. Of course if you push it too hard it’s gonna backlash but I havnt had it be as bad as my black max 3 or black max ambassador. Dang good quality and dang good quality video brother 💪

I have it and it helps on a windy day, but I reach for my non DC casters more often, feels like I have more control of the reel without the DC.

have a DC...if you throwing lures on the heavy side its kinda not much a help... only on lighter lures its best...i just like the sound lol..but i switched up the set up to BFS been having way more fun on medium ultra light set up

and swith that line to a diawa xj 8 or 4...20 pound line braid, you will feel a big difference in case and feel using that line...youll never want to get any other braid line after that

Thats supposed to be a great reel but have not used it. Started baitcasting this year with Lews Xfinity caught like 150 fish with it on 1/8 to 1/6 lures work amazing. It's about getting it set up for each lure. Garcia Revo x does even better and smoother for litter lures. Thanx for doing review tells alot.

I try man! Really its been a great reel my favorite that I own honestly. In this video I let it backlash many times just to prove that it would. If you set it with really tight tension though it wont at the sacrifice of casting distance. That in my opinion is where the reel excels. When the reel is set to Shimano's instructions it will cast unbelievable distance. Plus its smooth as butter. Absolutely craving the Curado after working with this reel! Don't buy it. The 2022 SLX DC XT is out now! Almost the same price as the previous model. The new model has the new mgl 3 spool in it.
