A simple unboxing of the Shimano 130a. I miss speak a couple times in the video it’s a torx drive and I call the reel seat a rod holder.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and apply a light coat of grease to the fasteners so the threads don’t corrode in place. A piece of electrical tape on the reel seat will keep that $250 butt from looking like it was drug across the parking lot and keep corrosion out. Also apply tape the inside the attachment ring. Finally the attachment hardware, position the reel in place on the butt and slightly tighten the jam nut. Slide the attachment hardware in place, then the ring, screw the nuts down lightly then take a strap wrench and tighten the jam but, then the second jam nut. Following that, tighten the screw nuts down, followed by the jam nut on the attachment hardware. The attachment nuts if lubricated get torqued to 10 ft/lbs for a 12.9 series fastener. Higher torques will crush the butt tube.

Awesome reel! I have the Tiagra 30. Just wished they designed some logo or artwork on the side of reel like the Okuma Makaira instead of leaving blank space.

Depending on what you're willing to spend I would go with an 8 foot 80-130 pound class stand up rod. About the only way to get one of those is to have it custom built. If you cant afford then go with an ugly stik stand up rod. Its not glamorous but they are strong and can take on about anything in the ocean.
