Thanks, just followed this to service my reel and hadn't realised salt had got inside so saved damage. Now running like new. First time I have serviced my own reel and this made it straight forward and really enjoyable.

Excellent video for a tutorial on a reel I've never serviced. The greatest value of videos like this is the opportunity to see equipment that you may not be familiar with and to study the process of the takedown and build back. Thanks for sharing!

I noticed that you don’t take the spool tension knob off. I wonder why?

No need to do that. There are no moving parts in that assembly.

Dennis , Great tutorial on the Shimano Trinidad. Two part question 1: does this process work on all of the trinidad series up to the size 30? Question 2: you said no grease on Carbon Tex drag washers. All of your vids. show you using Cal's drag grease? please clarify.

The process can apply to all of the Trinidad reels. The grease/no grease is a Carbontex recommendation. If you do use the grease, it needs to be a very thin coat where the excess is wiped off. Most drag washers I service are not carbontex and I do use the Cal's grease to keep them flexible. Thanks for the note - Dennis
