Another very useful video! I serviced the carriage on my 273 over the winter. I pulled the entire carriage out (it only took about 15 minutes to do) and found the wear blocks on the plunger end were worn at a slant. I suppose that's what happens when it runs for a long time with side to side slop. I got four new bakelite blocks from Batta's while I was out there getting parts for my pick up assembly. They were relatively cheap. All the bearings checked out OK and it went back together easily. Now it works like butter!
