In memory of legendary love story of SHIMREISHANG ZIMIK AND MAITONPHI LONGLENG of Phungcham Village.
They were deeply in love with each other but were forbidden to marry owing to their different social status. (SHIMREISHANG belonged to a royal family where as Maitonphi was from an ordinary family).
MAITONPHI-was secretly married off to a man of Halang Village In haste. SHIMREISHANG ran after the marriage party. By the time he reached a place called TENGLON, Longkhan and blew his Horn to signal his pursuit for his lover. (the marriage party had crossed the Lumkha) On hearing the trumpet MAITONPHI refused to proceed further but was forcibly escorted away.
In tears of sorrow, he stopped to blow his trumpet uttering the words: "Leishi-Ningchui" (Love, pain & Hurt).
This park stand to remind all those
men & women who are broken hearted in love to say that we share their "Leishi-Ningchui" (copy paste with minute edit from the sculpted memorial stone).
