It's refreshing to see a game like this allowed to exist and be appreciated today tbh. Shin Chan is classic to me from Adult Swim showings. Never heard of My Summer Vacation but the vibe is amazing.

4 Hours in and loving this game, the mixing of Bokunatsu nostalgic summer vibes with Shin Chan, which is show that already produces a ton of nostalgia in many people, is a great combination. Absolutely gorgeous. A pitty about the jokes that got lost in translation though, because there are a few. Other than that, hope the game does great and they bring a new Bokunatsu this time also for the west.

I genuinely feel bad for people that can't appreciate a chill and cozy game like the Summer Vacation series. Not judging or anything, anyone can play what they like, but having narrow tastes is an absolute bummer. There's so much more to gaming than action/violent games. And I'm far from preaching, I love those games too, but variety is the spice of life, don't knock it till you try it, folks.

Theres so much to possibly say as a respone; from not being able to afford a video game or even competition for competitive games. Don't feel bad, such is life. Enjoy it yourself and if there is a community from it then even better.

Damn, I read lots of Crayon Shinchan manga about 20 years ago and became a huge fan of the characters. I never thought in the year of 2022 it would be such a piece of art. The voice actors, artstyle, etc are genuine. Even the jokes in the dialogues, yeah the jokes are like what I expected to be. It's probably just another version of BokuNatsu series but feels like Crayon Shinchan video game is meant to be this way. 8/10 is fair enough but for fans of the Crayon Shinchan it's a must have.

I never read the manga but I did watch the anime. Randomly found it (I think toonami? I know I saw it on my cable tv). Funny thing is none of my other friends ever saw it so I couldn’t ever share my experiences. I was happy when they announced this game. It really is alot of fun. Especially during summer when it’s 100f+ outside daily and I get stuck inside.

I started this "farming" games with Harvest Moon back in the age of Nintendo 64 and loved this genre ever since. I have never heard of the manga or anime of Shin Chan (i live in Brazil by the way) and by searching "farming" games for Switch I ended up here. Saw you review and bought the game immediatly after and I can't put it down. This game is gorgeous and I love it. Thank you so much for your video and review! 🥰❤️

I loved watching the original 90s anime when I was younger. The game is super charming and beautiful. I even bought the Japanese physical release, just to get the making of booklet and notebook.

My first exposure to Shin Chan was when Funimation did the English parody dub! Still some of the best laughs to this day even if all of it was dubbed back in the late 2000s!

Great review! I bought it last year. I enjoyed the 僕の夏games I imported from Japan. Especially on the ps3 since it’s region (A) free. The little dialogues here and there were quite fun. (My Japanese is okay). When I saw this in the Japanese store I wanted to buy it but I figured it’d come to the US so I waited to get it on my Switch. I can’t read Japanese for too long before it fatigues me. I hope they bring some here or do more. I looooooooove these types of games. And I loved Shin Chan in the 2000s as a teenager who found everything hilarious at the time. Win win for me.

oh. y'know this is gonna sound weird but there are crayon shin-chan movies out there that are definitely worth a watch if this interests you. my personal favorite is.. ahem.. "Crayon Shin-chan: Fierceness That Invites Storm! The Adult Empire Strikes Back" yeahh.. it's a mouthful but you can find it online pretty easily to watch with subtitles.

Does anyone know, if I buy the Japanese or Chinese physical versions, will it also be able to download the English language pack? Since it has an English digital version. The back of those boxes say there's no English. Seems strange to me.

I......didn't think they'd translate this title so I ended up getting this in Japanese when it had its first sale on the JP eshop 😂 my first introduction to this series was with Bokunatsu 3 which dad bought and I enjoyed loads I enjoyed Attack of the Friday Monsters too a lot so I was incredibly excited for this when I saw its announcement I honestly need more Millennium Kitchen games tho ngl ahahah

A lot of shinchans jokes are based on japanese wordplay with him usually mishearing what was said or twisting it into something amusing. I caught a lot of them in the jpn original but can understand these are really hard to make work in english without reworking a lot as they just sound weird if plainly translated. This game is a rarity in the west i never in my wildest dreams would imagine a bokunatsu game would ever get a english translation if you ever want to see anyting like this again i suggest you support this as if it bombs i don't think we'll ever see another game ever come over here even in Japan this style of game is really uncommon now it's been a very long time since bokunatsu 4 on psp.

You can finish the game in 12-15hrs, which I have finished in the chinese vers. Do note if you are playing, WIN THE FIRST CARD GAME, else it will be too difficult to win at the second card game!
