I absolutely love Shins reactions during his atomic breath. We’ve seen the Big G use atomic breath plenty of times, but this is something else. It’s feels like Shins not so much breathing but more vomiting it out. You can see how it looks like he’s heaving and his tail twisting and turning behind him, another reminder of the hell he is living
@honestscriberelaxation95422 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing. I felt so bad for him, but was also terrified at the sheer magnitude of destruction. The previous Godzillas' breath weapons were on about the same level as a supersized dragon, but this was something else entirely.

What's the deal with Shin anyway?
@themerchantof11752 жыл бұрын
@@john4elohim Shin Godzilla is similar to his first iteration, a sea creature off of the coast of Japan is mutated by radioactivity destroys tokyo, but unlike the first films godzilla, Shin Godzilla is constantly evolving in response to conditions in order to survive. heavily bleeding? He makes stronger skin. Can’t get of the ground? He creates bigger arms and stronger legs to prop himself up. And with this scenario, stealth bombers pummeling you with bombs thousands of feet in the sky? Fire breath focused into Atomic breath to destroy it. Also through the movie, Shin Godzilla is in immense and constant amounts of pain with the constant evolution.

I really love the scene where the camera zooms away from his eyes, signifying that he realizes the carpet bombing will hurt him, and the way he whips his body to emit his atomic beams really gives so weight to the movements in this scene! Great work on this and I would be elated to see more! 😁

@stephenwhitford7752 жыл бұрын
I have trouble finding a comparison, but it's like Godzilla has to throw his entire weight into aiming while firing because if he didn't the beams just wouldn't cooperate.
@Andrew___P Жыл бұрын
One additional detail you added was instead of Shins fire breath phase just consuming the buildings you showed buildings actually igniting as the fire hit them which added some more ferocity to that phase. Also the little convulsions in the chest and neck before and during the part where Shin was expelling the smoke made it as if it was vomiting initially was a pretty disturbing but very cool addition. It being Shins first Atomic Breath would have probably felt extremely unnatural and what do animals do when they feel sick, try to force themselves to throw up. It adds to the character that Shin isn't some primitive alpha creature but an animal that has grown up unnatural, the chemicals not only mutated and twisted its flesh but make it extremely ill. Shin exists in an endless state of agony, choking and overheating as it attempts to stabilize its erratically changing body. Even after it manages to adapt to breathing oxygen on land it still struggles with its internal temperatures (possibly a result from extremely cancerous amounts of cellular mitosis, which does raise a creatures body temp not to mention would explain its growth rates) as well as not even knowing where it can go or what it is. It learns only after releasing the Atomic beam and literally exhausting the stored energy within can it go into a form of suspended animation/statis which possibly offers temporary respite. A very scared, malformed abomination of a lifeform that is alone, lost and exists through a state of constant suffering. Shin is definitely the most tragic and miserable iteration of the King of Kaiju.

There's an excellent sense of weight to this animation- part of it is the wonderful choice of sound effects, partially it's Godzilla's actions and the world's reactions. I particularly like the details of Godzilla's spines wiggling with his footsteps. Additionally, you really get a sense for Godzilla's emotions here, as he goes from 'Oh, I don't feel too good' to 'I can use this to hurt you'. It's something that's very hard to capture with only animations, particularly with something as inflexible as Godzilla, but all the little pauses and twitches add a lot to the cinematography of the original scene. Kudos!

Great reimagination of the atomic fire breath! Been a while since I watched the movie, but it looked on point. I gotta say though, Shin Godzilla has got to be the freakiest Godzilla. It's shaped like Godzilla, but the differences really creeped me out. I find how it's bottom jaw splits open and creates a perfect semicircle just a bit offputting, not to mention the dead eyes and strange thing on the end of its tail. Kind of think its first form out of the water was weirdly cute in how it looked so happy to take a stroll through Tokyo.

I haven't settled on it, but my reasoning is that some of the cinematography is just a little bit spicier than the real film. It's obviously animated, which I like. Also what program was this done on??? Edit: I am doing a few rewatches and I compared it to the original scene and man...You. Delivered. I absolutlely love the little instances of additional movement you added to the Shin model as it moved, notably at 1:31 with the exageration of the back barrage and 1:36 more lively tail movement. These additions added some much character to you interpretation. I haven't even mentioned all of the destruction and fire mechanics too, Seriously, I loved it already, its gone ten fold now. This is phenomenal. I mostly adore Shin Godzilla, but I do have certain gripes with it, one of them being how oddly disconnected from the real on-the-ground horror the film was. I get that the original atomic breath scene was designed to be quietly though breathtakingly somber and poetic in its impact. This video here retains that feeling just as well, while also showing just how truly brutal, destructive, and horrifying what Godzilla did was. Your reimagining of the scene truly expresses the concept that Godzilla is a living, breathing atomic weapon. Bravo my friend, you deserve all the praise and views you’ll get for this.
