Shin Hisako vs. TJ Combo

Apparently, people playing KI a couple times only see the combos. Yes, the combo animations are similar. But hey, there's more! Shin has Spirit Orbs to help her in her movements and attacks. She has cross-through, she has faster walkspeed, her dashes don't work the same. She has her own Instinct, she doesn't have a character-specific meter AND she doesn't have a "holding-auto" mechanic. But yeah, she's totally a skin, right? May I remind you that everything in a fighting game character has to serve a purpose? Normals have to be different in terms of frame data as well. You don't judge a character by its combos. Everyone can do combos. It's like complaining that RAAM doesn't have enough variety. Oh wait, what does RAAM have? A special run, a command grab and armor plus a fake-out kick.

As a Hisako player, I can tell you that Shin Hisako is NOTHING like Hisako. Her walk speed alone makes her different (Hisako players will agree). Counter/Grappler and Rushdown are two totally different styles.

Cool Guy right again. Hisako and Mira are my two fave new series characters... alongside my originals Orchid and Fulgore. Anyone who's played with these characters can recognize and appreciate the subtle differences between them. If you remember the original MK and SF (Male ninjas, Ken and Ryu, anyone?), you'll also recall how people could kill with one and be complete trash with the other. I see a lot of complaints, but I'm pretty hyped myself. Hisako has an awesome character design, but her playstyle never fit with me. I'm happy we have a faster, more aggressive version of her. Honestly, the reused animation is neat to me. It shows creativity in taking something that exists already and makes it new again.

before anyone says anything stupid, she shares some similar animations with hisako. that aside, watch the stream before you type about a character you know completely nothing about. here's a bit of info. hisako= mix up, counter grappler shin hisako= rush down, punisher if you do not play hisako then most of you can not tell, that shin hisako is a completely different character in terms of play style and will be scary to go up against.

Probably the weight of it is making her hunch her back. I mean, that seems to be an odachi she's using, which is basically the katana equivalent of a great sword. And if you know Hisako's backstory, you'll know that she never had formal training to use that (the naginata is lighter than a katana, especially an odachi katana, so the only argument she had for her slow speed was her being undead). Which makes sense - women were traditionally never allowed near the damn things, let alone allowed to be anything that would be remotely considered a warrior (hell, at one point in history Japanese women were seen as no more than cumdumps to the Samurai - and men in general for that matter).

I will never forgive what Iton Galaxy did to TJ Combo with all those unnecessary nerfs to his gameplay, plus every other character for that matter. Except this is one character, who despite sharing a lot of animations with her original, has a unique mechanic that lets her stand out from her original, whereas SF (specifically 4) was 1 character being cloned 9+ times with very few unique changes. Shin Hisako is no different from Shago and Kilgore. All 3 share animations with their originals, but have some new moves and a unique mechanic or 2 that drastically differentiates them from their originals.
