It is a cultural preference, and has been like this for years on top of years. More than likely it will never change. FYI, celebrities are basically the only ones that have their weddings in hotels. The rest of the Korean population that get married either do outside weddings, house weddings, or weddings in a hall. Once they go and acquire their marriage licenses/marriage documents, and register themselves in the same household, they are basically married, and anything after that is a beautiful ceremony (reception) gathering of family and friends at their choice of location and venue. None Korean celebrities cannot afford a hotel wedding unless they are marrying into a wealthy family or a famous wealthy celebrity family.

@@marianitadelabahan7771 No worries. Even with weddings in KDrama shows, they are normally at event halls, hotels or outside. It’s just never been practiced there as much, especially with the many different faiths they have now.

Just asking . . . . as I noticed that most of Korean marriaged ceremony are done in a hotel and not in a church (regardless) of what kind of religion do they belong. Anybody could make an explanation for us to understand especially to Filipinos in general because in our country weddings are done in the church, except for those who belong to Born Again (religion) as they used to conduct wedding ceremony in hotel or in a garden wedding.

In Korea, and China, a couple get married by registering their marriage....a ceremony is just a gathering of friends and family....it is not a legally binding thing like the western cultures have a wedding in a church or other location....some Chinese and Korean couples don't even have a big ceremony when they get married...

IT says “ONE OF THE LONGEST couples “, which doesn’t claim that they are the longest of all but just asserts that they are one among them. I don’t find you on a right position to ask someone for research😅
