I cried watching this and I don't even cry at funerals. These kids are incredible. They faced what no kid should ever have to and they made it, they made it out alive. Not without tragedy of course. The 17 lives lost in Parkland plus the so many others in schools over the years will forever be a symbol of absolutely disgusting crime and hope all at the same time. Because of these students, kids across the nation are pushing to end gun violence; kids who aren't even old enough to vote. I don't know about any other highschool students, but I certainly don't want to face what these kids did. But they didn't *choose* to face it; they happened to be the ones. And that shooter picked the wrong group of kids and, ultimately, the wrong generation. We won't give up until this fight is won. All you hear about is how kids born after 1998 ish are screwing up the world; the do too much SnapChat and they eat Tide Pods. But we did this too; we organized 800,000 protestors in D.C. alone, we organized 2,500 schools to walkout across the nation, we stood up to our government when people told us we had no voice. And these kids started it all. We didn't do it because we wanted to; those things are daunting tasks for kids. No one *wants* to have motivation to start protests. No, we did it because we had to. When these kids saw and experienced first hand the injustice, they stood up for it. Adults weren't doing anything about it, so the burden was brought to children. The clips from the marches hit me the hardest in this video. Kids did that. These are the things that make me proud to be a 21st century kid. Keep fighting and stay strong, you are amazing!

It’s been over and year. A year. And I still don’t know how I feel about this song. The melodies and instrumentals are absolutely stunning... yet I cry every time I listen. I cry because of my best friend. Cara didn’t deserve this. She was an angel in person. There was so much she had planned. She had a birthday that was two weeks away, and now she never had the chance to reach 15. She was gonna go to Ireland to visit family for the summer. Her parents had to refund her ticket. We had made plans in the future to be college roommates and by a big beach house together afterward. We were gonna travel the world together. She was planning on studying psychiatry in college. But now she never will. And that’s the part that upsets me the most. Not that i’ll never see her again. Not that she’s no longer on the planet. She was the kindest, most honest, and most intelligent person I’ve ever known. She is too good for this planet and I know that. What bothers me the most... is all the things she will never be able to do. The things she will never be able to experience. The places she will never be able to see. She deserved so much better. All 17 of these beautiful angels deserved so much better. Rest In Peace Unbiological Sister 💜

17 angels. Angels who should be here today, 17 angels who should have recently celebrated Valentine's Day. Instead on Valentine's Day their families celebrated them and remembered how many memories they had with them. 2/14/18. Should have been a day of love. It was a day of tragedy.

Congratulations Andrea and Sawyer, everyone with Shine MSD , and everyone involved in the making of this music video, you've done it again! The soft musical opening with the filming of students, teachers, staff, and parents holding photographs was bone chilling to the very core. Hearing you sing Shine with its magnificent lyrics, vocals, musical accompaniment, and haunting message is always lovely, but to see it on film with visuals of everything you've been through and accomplished over the past 3 months is so inspirational and powerful! I truly believe you DO have something special going on here and without even knowing it or necessarily wanting it, it is my personal belief that you have written a version, albeit your own personal version, of Blowing In The Wind for the 21st Century! You should be IMMENSELY PROUD of yourselves as am I! And as for the 17 angels (And Eagles!) , I believe they are looking down on all of you with pride and telling you as long as you never forget and always remember us and fight for us, it's okay to take the credit for any accolades that come your way, you truly deserve it! I sit here in the San Francisco Bay Area where I've lived for the past 14 years wondering if I'll ever again have a chance to come home again because of my own family issues, but this 30 year old has never been prouder to be from Broward County, Florida and a former student of Broward County Public Schools! My heart will forevermore be in South Florida no matter where I live! You have changed my life in so many ways and while I am so , so sorry that we've all had to meet you under these horrific circumstances, I want you to know I am honored and privileged to be joining you in this fight to end the sickness of gun violence! My love to you all, my heart continues to go out to you as you have my heart, and I'll leave you with this William Daniels (George Feeny) quote: "Believe in yourselves, try, do good, no I mean do GOOD!" #MSDStrong

Watching this touching and emotional video brought tears to my eyes. Each and everyone' of you, have done one hell of a job. The sadness that all of you feel going to school, must be horrible. However, you keep going, and that's what's going to happen!!! Keep fighting until your voices are heard, and your mission is complete. We, as parents, are all in this together. May all the 17 angels see what you are accomplishing, and may they fly over each and everyone of you to protect you, give you strength, and smile down at you for doing such an amazing job!!!!

When you’re voting this year, remember that you have a privilege, a privilege that some of the Parkland survivors still won’t have. And there are hundreds of thousands of more children in schools across this country who need someone to vote for _them._ Vote like your seven year old’s life depends on it because even if you don’t have one of those, someone else does. I don’t know about everyone else, but I don’t want to live in a nation that puts the burden on children to pass common sense gun reform. So vote. Vote because even if politics don’t hugely affect your life, there are a lot of kids out there depending on you to do the right thing.
