I like the way the lyrics succinctly express our lives today. Took me a couple times seeing the video to get the gravity, but the song itself hits so hard every man woman and child needs to hear it. They put everything they are as a family into their music and share their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and what's going on in the world into their lyrics, and their sound. Shinedown played at a small venue here in Lafayette Louisiana before they made it big. I really wish I had taken photos that night. These guys are great, nice, humble, no ego, appreciate their fans, make/write great tunes and have a never ending supply of music for our ears and brains. Eric said in an interview that they will never have a “best of”. Simply because they have so much music in their catalog that we haven’t heard. Love those guys and I am looking forward to 4/22/22.

I every occurrence of the words obedient or obedience is spelled wrong, they use an A instead of the second E. I don't know if this is a mistake on the post production's end or a clue. Also who the hell is Cyren!?!

The cipher on the counter at 2:42 says "Obedience is obligatory Dissent is forbidden Compliance is mandatory Mistakes are not tolerated" And at 2:56 Brent says "This is not real" There's probably some hidden messages in the pool and on the chessboard, but those look a bit more complicated and I didn't bother trying to solve them lol Edit: I went back and solved the chessboard cipher. It's at 2:40 and it says "Initiate Sequence Obedient Humanity Maintain The Fear Judgment Ideology" I took a serious look at the pool cipher and I'm pretty sure it's just segments of the counter cipher. If there's an actual different message in it, I wasn't able to find it.

i still remember getting a "various artist" sampler album with "In Memory' on it from Leave a Whisper before it came out, also remember where I was when I first heard it, and will never forget. Have seen them live on almost every album release tour and they continue to get better and better. great song, great video.

I feel that, too. Like when you strike a tuning fork and bring it near the strings of a guitar. The string that matches it begins to ring with it. It doesn't matter what song I play from them, I get choked up and struggle not to sob.

I’ve had quite a connection to shinedown for a long time their song diamond eyes was the first song I heard from them and had been my favorite ever since but I think this one just top it and if they are coming to St. Louis then I cannot what for what shinedown has in store for their next album
