I always say Shinedown is my "go-to" band. I wish this band had been around 40 years ago, I would have been living a better life, I believe. But then sometimes I think that the "road of shame" brought me to Shinedown. Therapy in music. Truth never felt so good. Peace
@athelwulfgalland9 ай бұрын
I hear you loud & clear, 40 years ago would have put this in my early childhood, like the 1st grade time frame. That said we go through the hardest of times in our lives, the worst experiences & our greatest tragedies so that we can arrive at a time that might not be optimal but when looking back it seems like the difference between heaven & Earth. Goodness how this song alone would've changed my life just 30 years ago - but if it did I can't even imagine where I'd be today. I can never say I'd trade my life today for another version of today I don't know because it would deny those whom I've met that mean the most to me.

The sound of madness, as Brent will explain in his interviews, could really just be the steamy gurgle of the coffee pot, making love to the snooze button of your alarm clock rousting you out of your sleepy stupor as you pull yourself together for getting to work.....the rhythmic thrum of the shower pelting on your back, the ambulance sirens whizzing by your window.....or the soft, quiet place you go to gather your thoughts... it's more of a humble metaphor that takes on relative perspective as it applies to the listeners world in general, from their internal monologue and their personal unique situation, it's memory ghosts between the beats, it's different to every member of the audience. This piece can hit every nuance on the philosophical spectrum. It's potent medicine for the brain. I love this song!

Oh wow! Never thought to even check these comments. Ty for the couple of positive things you posted. So many ppl do not understand how things that we do to ourselves or others do to us, affects many. Especially the ones who really love us & we do not even realize it or believe it. No one ever wants to talk about the bad. B/c I don't struggle every day to make it, most ppl believe that it's not even a problem. Some ppl think & feel their lives are way worse than mine. Some are. Some are not. Either way, everyone's problems are big & important to themselves. That is all that matters. I try to practice understanding than trying to be understood & life is better. Prison no is not where I would like to have my son? I do have him. A lot of mothers do not. It's all about gratitude.

Kelly McNeely Hey, do you have a Bible? If not then you need to go buy one and read some of the New Testament, it's very inspirational and the way that you've written these comments look like they should be in the Bible itself! The comments sections for pretty much every Shinedown video is FULL of inspirational words, and I believe yours are the most inspirational of them all! I'm really sorry about your son, in fact, I'll pray for his safety. Never believe that you're alone because God will always be there with you.

Shinedown isn't my favorite band by all means, but they make some really great and memorable music. I heard a KZbin short that the couple from Spiritbox was having some financial issues after covid. They spent a fortune on equipment for a European tour and did a few shows when Covid hit. They were financially critical and I think Brent(?) from Shinedown reached out and offered financial assistance because he believed in them so much. If that doesn't soften your humanity check your pulse, I'll always be a fan of their music but more importantly the people behind the music that drives our everyday life. That's quality stuff, thank you Shinedown because i am a huge fan of Spiritbox since their humble beginnings to worldwide tours and Grammy nods

When I listen to Shinedown so does my neighbors! Turn it up! Who liked Brent with long hair and eyeliner? 🔥
@dawnasmile5 жыл бұрын
That "hard" rocker look works quite well for him....but then again, I don't know if Brent could ever look bad. He is always getting closer and closer to HIS personal style, his personal happiness, his personal relationships with the guys , his personal relationships with his fans...but MOST of all...his personal relationship with himself. Brent just seems at peace.
