SHINee is the most versatile group and their vocals never sound bad. Onew kept his voice steady for 40 seconds and could probably be longer and the opera is the icing on the cake

I think SM focus on 1. Vocal 2. Acting for Movie, Kdrama, Musical 3. Dance, They have amazing choreographer, dancer and iconic dance move 4. Technology & inovation

I think SM looks at their idols to have longevity in the Entertainment space. So they train them for long term relevance as well.as multi-skiling them....So I am looking forward to seeing most of the SM groups I Stan in various arenas, doing different things....for a long time.....Shinee at the top of the list....

The first time I heard Onew sing was when he had a duet with Yonghwa from CNBlue and I was so amazed by his voice, which say a lot since a whole Jung Yonghwa was singing too

Someone who has opera background said that the way Onew sang opera wouldn't be good in the opera world but they also said it's extremely difficult for someone without proper opera training to sing like Onew so he's amazing. Also I think the clip where he was crying was the first performance after he had a vocal cords surgery

In the several videos I've seen with classically/opera trained reactors, all the reactors can tell right away that Onew doesn't have the proper techniques for opera but they also recognize that for a pop/non classically trained singer he's among the best they've ever heard and he seems to have a natural talent for it. They think he could probably be easily trained and excel in the genre.

Onew est pour moi sans conteste le meilleur chanteur Coréen que j'ai entendu jusqu'à maintenant. Il peut tout chanter sans aucun soucis, il possède une technique vocale incroyable. Il a un tonalité tellement particulière et exceptionnelle que l'on reconnait sans problème Onew lorsqu'il chante ou parle. Et je rajouterai qu'en plus il possède une personnalité très attachante, discrète et bienveillante avec toutes les personnes qui l'entourent. That performance where he was crying was after he had his major vocal polyp surgery which left him unable to speak for a period of time. He had to retrain his voice again form scratch and wasn't even sure if he'll ever get to properly sing again. He must've been overwhelmed with emotion, knowing his voice had made it through the whole performance without giving out. Also the song was written by a japanese singer who sufferend from the same condition as Onew but i believe he never regained the same vocal ability he had before his surgery, which makes this performance even more emotional.

This is one of the million reasons Onew ended up my bias! his voice is sooooo amazing. Also the one of the reasons he got emotional during the performance of Rainy blue (6:07-6:36) is that it was after he had surgery on his vocal cords. He had to recover for 3 months and during this time he could not talk and definitely not sing. He had to retrain his voice to be able to sing again (high notes, low notes, everything). This time was extremely hard on him mentally and I think that together with all the emotions from the song and them performing at Tokyo Dome for the first time, he got emotional and ended up crying.

Each member is super talented... but really I checked everyday para ver si veo Jonghyun's cover de "Si fuera de ella" de Alejandro Sanz is another level.... is a Korean version of the Spanish song..... you should check out some Minho videos too lol and I genuinely enjoy ONEW but Jonghyun vocals are wow

11:11 to 11:38 is one of my favorite OST, it was one of Minho's main lead drama, (to the beautiful you), in 2010 and Onew did one of the OSTs (in your eyes). In that show, he was singing the same OST for Minho

Onew as well as SHINee is Kpop Legend... he has a one in a million vocal gift... can you believe its just 3 months after he just undergone "vocal surgery" and had to learn how to sing and speak when he perform "Rainy Blue" ( the video where he cried ) that's why he is so emotional. And for the last part of the video, it show's his kpop record for "LONGEST HIGH NOTE IN KPOP" which last for 40+ seconds and noone... and I mean NOONE... ever broke his record up until this very moment... not even close to 30 sec... LEGEND INDEED.
