As the other comments are saying, Jonghyun wrote the lyrics for Symptoms. Jonghyun was an amazing songwriter. He also wrote "Playboy" and gave it to EXO (although I will never not be sad that he didn't keep it for himself, you can hear him sing clips of it at his solo performances and it gives me chills), he also wrote IU's "Gloomy Clock" and Lee Hi's "Breathe." Which are both amazing songs as well. Also, he wrote "Pretty Boy" and "Already" for Taemin's solo albums.

@@livefree.d oh, I see! btw, I really appreciate that you seem to get very into the lyrics and idk if you'll listen to more B-sides but the chances seem high, so I'd just like to toss in a few recs just in case. SHINee's 5th album, 1 of 1, has a LOT of solid b-sides (only 1 of 1 was the title track & then later on, Tell Me What To Do in the repackage) that could be titles. I think Prism is the most popular one so you'll get to it eventually w/o me suggesting it (this one Jonghyun had a part in writing in it + is one of the most balanced ones vocally for all the members!), but I'd actually like to recommend: Don't Let Me Go (Key + Minho had a part in the rap) & it's got such poetic lyrics, it's one of their best ballads imo but they've only performed it on vlive once & in concerts, no comeback stages. I think it's very underrated and not a lot of reactors choose that one. & also Shift from that same album, is incredible. You actually heard a bit of it in that A very SHINee Guide! but I think you'd really like the journey that it takes you on. That one was produced by LDN Noise, who had a part in Married to the Music and View as well.

That was my first SHINee song if I don't count 'Stand by me' in the Korean drama kk, And in the first second I found out I was in love with that voice, and with the second voice too and then I stregled to choose a Bias in SHINee, Onew's voice was what made me look for SHINee, but Jonghyun's voice stole my heart at that moment but Onew's voice as well. I decided to keep both voices and that was the best decision I made. and I still stick to my decision Jonghyun wrote that lyrics I think if you had done the two lyrics and the live show would be even more thrilled SHINee lives has something special and this is not different www.youtube.com / watch? Although I know it's not always safe to react to comeback stages, SHINee's Music Core "Symptoms" comeback stage performance kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqu8eaZ4mNSiZsU is a must watch. The whole performance, combined with the choreography, is really what makes this song a masterpiece. It is one of SHINee's iconic performances that all Shawols need to see to really call themselves a true fan. ;D This song really showcases what makes SHINee's live vocals so unbelievable. You will be even more blown away by their harmonies when you hear it live. Even if you aren't able to react to it, I really hope you at least check out this performance on your own. Thank Jonghyun for those brilliant lyrics. "Symptoms" was released in 2013 as part of their Everybody album, and it was another song that was wrote by Jonghyun. It was the B-side track that they promoted with along with "Everybody." "Symptoms" is a SHINee classic and it is a perfect example of what made Jonghyun such a genius singer/songwriter. This is just one of dozens of examples of why Jonghyun was so highly respected in the industry. As one of the first Idols to be recognized for his songwriting skills, what really made him special was the fact that he not only wrote songs for himself and his group, but he actually had a side career as a songwriter producing songs for other singers and companies. On variety shows and in interviews, hosts would often question why Jonghyun was the only SHINee members that wasn't involved in other parts of the entertainment industry. While the other members also were TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, hosts, etc. and the other members often appeared on variety shows and participated in TV programs, you didn't see Jonghyun as much, unless it was part of promotions with the whole group or if he was promoting a new solo album. (Jonghyun did host his own, very popular, late night radio program for 3 years called Blue Night.) But what many people didn't realize was that he was super busy behind the scenes He spent his time as a songwriter and composer always working on the next hit song.
