Right? So rare to see this individuality in Kpop. I mean, SM is infamous for making west born idols sing nonsense english lyrics. SHINee shows they're no push-arounds and I love it!

They have proven success as an experimental group for many years and will definitely have a strong opinion of what they'd like to do. As we can see here, they did find the recording of this song difficult too but they dug deep, got the result that they want and in the process they have grown again as artists.

Shinee worked really hard since their early days to have more creative control, at first at lot from Jonghyun writing and producing. And the boys worked really hard to be able to work on their music all of Shinee members have univeristy degrees in music, on top of which Onew and Jonghyun both have a masters (Jonghyun in film and music, Onew in practical music), and Key has a post grad in culture and education content if I remember correctly. i imagine putting people who have been doing this for a decade who all have high education on the topic will be very opinionated about it :D Its really always interesting to hear their insight on their music.

Onew's performance in the studio gives me chills. SHINee's talent is immense; I know how awesome they are individually and collectively. Their vocal, rap dance stage presence, Key's fashion, Taemin's gracefulness and fluidity, and Min-ho's dominant presence already make me admire them. My eyes were opened to Key's brilliance as a fashion designer after watching their Netflix documentary years ago. This studio session is about Onew, the beast. WOW!

@@ElenaYecla That was Years and years ago, I think it was about one of their world tours. That was when I learnt that Key designed most of their stage outfits. Don't think it's available on there anymore, but there are others about boys groups world wide. You will have to search for it. Sorry

Onew's riffs (15:43) and and breath control (16:41, 19:02) on this song is out of this world. Just pure butter. His voice literally can adapt to any genre, and the way his voice is agile (17:25 - 17:38 and 20:06) to fit the song is amazing. Key's lower register (04:30) and high notes (03:55) are both so full, and his rapping (05:15) is sooo sultry and crispy to the ear. He's so well balanced and smart about how he uses his vocals. Taemin's runs, oh Lord. They are so sharp (10:03) and clean (09:49)! His rapping (11:40) is also so damn sultry and his vocal fry additions is just cherry on top. On top of that, he keeps his tone so fixed (09:11, 12:17) and full (13:26), gah. So good. Minho in this song, my goodness. I am so happy they let him do really low notes. He really completed this song- he balances the whole group so well with his soft (24:04) and deep (24:11 and 24:55) voice.

I *literally* SCREAMED at the top of my lungs when Key did his chorus part on the "bami nogeul mankeum tteugeopgo jinhan" part, I have no idea why but it just made me scream how he hits these lines he just sounds so good😭 I'm a baby shawol and i'm slowly watching their content and diving deep into their discography and I've loved everything so far, I'm falling so HARD for these guys❤

6:52 Onew you are so real for this!!!!!!!!!!!! JUICE really surprises people when they hear it for the first time, the whole melody and "I think you like me" is crazy. In Madrid and in the music shows when they were promoting other Kpop stans were into JUICE as soon as they heard it, and while HARD is a great song and I do love it, maybe the pitch is to high sometimes that makes you lose focus or something and it get hard for them too after a while, it's subtle. JUICE and Identity are just perfect to catch people's attention.. no wonder they're the mot beloved B-sides

After watching a lot of groups do this recording behind the scenes content bucket, I really appreciate the level of input SHINee has with their sound. You can really see how hands on and passionate they are. Sometimes other groups feel like they're just being led through their own songs by the producer or someone else. Which isn't bad! It takes a whole team to make a hit after all. But wow, it really reinforces how SHINee goes above and beyond!

I like recording bts the most, because of this we get to see how much they are involved, and each one of them have their own points and after combining that leads them to choose the finale work. I like when they make some changes and add something which feels more interesting to them. SHINee in recording studio always impress me!They all so good and know exactly what to do, they all are very skillful in their main job as singer rapper artist musician in one.
