Here's my theory about Shin Lim's mind-boggling trick. First, he used an off-screen accomplice to write Horret's answers on the 4 cards. Then, when Horret's picture-in-picture suddenly grew to obscure half the screen, the accomplice positioned the cards, edge towards camera, against the black bar in the background. With zero depth of field, the four cards were hidden in plain sight when the picture-in-picture reverted back to normal size. Shin plucked the cards from the black holder making it appear that he grabbed them from thin air. This was done so smoothly, so brilliantly that the illusion baffles not only the naked eye, but also the slo-mo camera. The greatest living magician of our era.

Hardest part for Shin was keeping his body and hands in frame so nothing got cut off until he grabbed the cards placed just off frame by an assistant that filled out the cards for him. That took much practice to get correct and look the way it did. Props to precision

I figured it out.. Shin had someone writing down the answers off screen and while shins body blocked the view they placed them in a clip lined up perfectly with the frame of his trophy cabinet making them invisible from our view. This was the magic of angles and perspective. Horrets jumbo card trick was mind boggling and I couldn't figure that one out..Master's!

Brooooo, I kinda was on a good way to get a clue of how you produce the cards out of mid air and how you get the predictions on the card (Penn and Teller). But now, after you combined both of them, you just destroyed all of my theories man 😅😍. Absolutely great work shin! Keep going!!!

You can know how Horret Wu did his magic(taking small cards from bottom and throwing big cards on his lap etc.), but it will take years to know how the heck Shim Lim brought that 4 cards!

The only thing I can think of for how he gets the four cards to materialize is that his apartment backdrop is really a green screen with a slit/hole where the side of his trophy case is. His accomplice is behind the green screen writing the answers on the cards and carefully poking them through the slit over Shin's shoulder so when the time comes he just pinches them and fans them out.

10:25 I noticed the border of the cabinet is not a straight line (next to the trophy), which happens to be where he produced the cards. It was a straight line in his previous video (ep.1 at 5:29), but still not sure how he did that!

Horret's trick 1: Part 1(Change in size): Of course Horret pulled the small cards from the bottom pretending it is the top. This is because when he makes the cards small, the front doesn't look like it moves. Also, if you look carefully, he makes a small gap between the small and big cards with his index finger. In 1:35, he sneakily puts the hidden small cards into the bottom. In 2:34, Horret changes it all into small cards. He actually leaves the rest of the small cards at the top and slides the big cards to his knee, and uses his index finger gap to leave the small cards. When he compares two cards, he actually grabs two small cards, drop one of it quick. He puts the left big card onto his knees and grabs the dropped small card to create. the illusion that it changed.

I saw the 7 of Spade when you were showing the "blank" cards for just a moment. So I can definitely tell this is not pre-planned because that routine was new. I will say though, I know how you got those four cards written. :p How you produced them so clean, man, No clue. lmao
