Mantis mouths are actually pretty complex. They’re comprised of a single labrum, a pair of mandibles, and several pairs of maxila and labium. Unfortunately I don’t know if there’s a good single term to describe all of these structures beyond “mouth parts”

I am super stoked for the single releases of Anguirus, Kamacuras, and finally a showa king Ghidorah!! I’m really happy that King G is properly a unit, and a bit bigger than other 6 inch Goji vinyls. I’m still holding out hope that Bandai revisits Showa King Caesar’s design for a MMS release. I have the Godzilla Monster Island figure, and the Bandai Creations mold, which are both great for different directions, but I’d shell out the cash for a new movie monster series mold.

Bandai really do be pushing out loads of different special releases as of late, both on the Godzilla Store and (annoyingly) on P-bandai. I think the likeleyhood of a "50th Anniversary Memorial Box" like set is high, maybe a full Godzilla box collecting various incarnations. I imagine it would look like: 1. Godzilla 1954 2. In terms of the figures I like most here, it would be Kamacuras>King Ghidorah>Gabara>Anguirus>Mechagodzilla. Kind of bummed that Mechagodzilla is basically a one for one with the 4/5 inch figure in terms of articulation, especially on the legs and head (Even more so when the 75 figure had them, including at one point the mid swivel). But yeah in terms of winners, Anguirus for the articulation, and Kamacuras for the paint.

I'm really kinda disappointed that Mechagodzilla's basically a scaled up version of the 5 inch Bandai vinyl we got back in the summer, at least this has a better paint job. Hopefully when it gets re-released individually Bandai will add articulation in the head and maybe the legs, we'll see.

I dunno whether it’s scaled up, or the GMS Mechagodzilla is scaled down. It’s so hard to tell what (technically) came first behind the scenes. But yeah. Bit of a bummer. Wouldn’t expect or hope too hard for articulation additions though. Seeing how there’s already a remold coming for the fake Godzilla set, I think he’s set in stone to be a shoulder swiveler only. But I LOVE being wrong 👀

Was looking at my Toys Dream Project Anguirus from back in the day, this Anguirus is mostly new. Theres really no evidence of it being anything of a reuse. Body. Tail. Surprisingly the arms and legs.
