I feel the same... I got to play Red Rescue Team on my GBA, It was then my ever favorite game, I still have over 100 hours on that one. I NEVER knew that there was more games about Mystery Dungeon (Specifically, EOS), when I found it, I was just sooo hyped that I bought it on Amazon. The opening almost made me cry with that remixed theme from MD1. The new themes were amazing and well done in every aspect, the old ones had VERY smooth remixes and the story-telling was perfect. Reached the end-game and, literally, cried over 5 times with this game... This game will always have a place on my heart...

Something that makes this song special is how the background remains fairly consistent. The same line is repeating the whole time, but the melody around it changes the song's feel. This constant line (introduced at 0:02) never gets boring, despite playing the entire song. I love the swelling chord at the beginning, as if the music is sneaking in. The melody, especially around 0:45, sounds to me like a variation of the theme from the Rescue Team games. It's similar enough to be recognizable if you listen, but different enough to stand alone as its own theme. I love the overall instrumentation, especially with its two melodies (0:23 and 0:45) passing between similar, but distinct instruments. This theme isn't overused either. When you go here on your own, you only get the sounds of the sea. It only plays during cutscenes. The number of times this song gets heard makes it all the nicer when you hear it. This is one of the first and last songs in the main story, tying the game in a neat thematic bow. My favorite thing about video game music is that you get to tie it to an experience. East song grows to represent its game, or at least a scene from it. I feel like this song represents change. The melodies over top are growing over the same harmonic line. It's got one consistent part to it while other aspects of it grow. The placement of the song at the end of the game feels like one big "look how far we've come". Its still the same song, but the context makes it feel different. It highlights how much things have changed since the first time you visited the beach. For this game, it's like the musical embodiment of nostalgia. I love this song. It's definitely one of my favorite songs from the game. This song is great and deserves all of the attention it gets from this game's soundtrack.

If someone asked me why this is my favorite game of all time, I'd say that it's because it has affected so many people, including me, in the same positive way. Most of us feel the same about this game. Overlooking any technical issues, we are filled with utmost sentimentality and gratitude for the lifelong virtues this very game has given us, through the power of music and the masterful characters that are Grovyle and Dusknoir, among others. A grandiose example that a simple video game can be a timeless work of art.

@prancer99802 жыл бұрын
This track starts with the synthesized voices that are common in pmd tracks, and a similar thing happens at the beginning of "Run away" with the voices swelling into a chord. Then the harp comes in playing a theme reminiscent of the "farewell" theme's background ostinato from pmd 1. Strings come in and build the tension at 0:23, and get more and more intense until 0:45 when the accordion (I think) comes in with a simplified version of the main pmd theme, compare this to the explorers of sky intro theme and its basically the same just without the dotted/march rhythm. This track really makes you feel like you're waking up in a new world, the background melody and changing harmony gives a feeling of the peacefulness of the beech yet also the intensity of being in this new world, this builds up and as the main theme comes I feel like you start trying to remember your previous life. There is also this feeling of immense potential that connects with how the listener views their own past and for me at least is this what really brings the tears to my heart.

I'm currently walking along the Welsh coast, on a lovely beach called newborough on the Isle of Anglesey. It's cloudy and windy, but a quiet day. I'm playing this to myself and quietly crying. Seems kinda silly but the noise of the waves, the water in my toes, the smell of the ocean, that sea breeze lashing against my face, blowing my scarf towards the beach, it's all so.. resonant.
