Thank you so much!! Yup absolutely, it might seem confusing if you’re not familiar with battle pyramid hunting: So normally in the battle pyramid, Pokemon cannot be captured, nor can pokeballs even be brought in. The Pomeg berry glitch adds pokeballs to your battle pyramid pack which is awesome, however even if you catch Pokémon they cannot be kept if they are in your party. They can only be kept if they are sent to the PC. Before you start your hunts in the battle pyramid, you should always catch three Pokémon beforehand. So any shiny you find can be sent to the PC, and ultimately kept. For this flareon, for some reason I forgot to catch a third Pokémon, and therefore my party wasn’t full. Which means the flareon wasn’t sent to the PC, and therefore not kept. Hopefully this made sense. Check out my first battle pyramid vid for a better explanation if that wasn’t clear!

How many of your shinies have you gotten with 2 game systems and physically resetting or running back and forth on both? I’d have to sit to do this. 1 DS is best done in bed. I could get luckier with 2 I can get about 180 SRs in 3 hours a night if in bed because each reset is a little over a minute. It’s the only time I have time to kill while I listen to something entertaining like my favorite KZbin vlogger if they have multiple hour streams I’ll use illuminate chinchou/staryu on both 3DSes after this hunt. I’m going for either a full party or a badge quest with no phases. It’s more mindless and easier to run back and forth than to reset with a physical system

So a few things: 1. Shiny hunting is always a side activity to something else I’m doing. Watching tv/KZbin/work/etc 2. In a sick way, you almost have to embrace the grind and enjoy it. Like for me, there’s nothing more relaxing than coming home on a Friday night with zero plans, getting some food and grinding encounters for like 5 hours. The longer/harder the hunt, the more exciting it is when it’s finished

How do you increase odds in gen 3? I've only ever encountered 2 shinies in my life on GBA...1 before I knew it was shiny and I ran.

So in third Gen there’s no way to increase shiny odds. The only real instance where shiny odds improve (well two instances) - Whismaker Jirachi has an additional shiny chance (~1/7200) because 9 total Jirachi of the 65,000 total are able to be shiny (instead of the typical 8) - certain species of unown has lower shiny odds (~1/5000) depending on your TID. However others have higher odds

I found your channel recently and it made me wanna pick up my gen 3 games again and reclaim my 2 shinys from childhood! Golbat I seafoam cave. My first ever shiny i remember specifically because it was literally one encounter before articuno! Unfortunately traded it to a higher game what then got stolen. Then a duskull in ruby that I accidentally ran away from. Currently on over 16k for Golbat (no shinys so far) but I have hope something will turn up eventually!
