As someone who's planning my entire life around a making a video game I probably won't be able to release for 20-30 years, this hits hard Music and art(?) I'm decent enough at, but I still need to learn animation, coding, game design, and get good enough at all of 5 of these things (plus more I'm probably not considering) that I can make something of the quality I want to make, and then also actually make said thing... it's gonna be a while... But often when I have a bad day, I tell myself something along the lines "you can't give up! you haven't even made CORVID (the name of my game) yet!" and it really does help me get through the day. And hell, even on good days, I'm often doing things simply because I think it'll bring me closer to this far, far off goal "These insatiable aspirations make me whole Someday keeps me warm when the present gets too cold" Story of my goddamn life And then, the song reminds me that my present is important too. Which, luckily for me, is something I already remind myself of all the time, but something about the way this song says it feels like it's drilling it into my brain just a liiiiitttlle more which I appreciate This isn't necessarily my favorite song from the album (FIRE4FUN is right there) but it definitely means the most to me. Makes me tear up a little when I sing along even. Hopefully one day I can be in a place where it... doesn't mean as much to me? If that makes sense??? Idk it sounds stupid when I put if into words but you know what I mean. Till then it's my comfort song though❤ I almost didn't comment this because I usually don't get this personal on the internet but ehh whatever

REAL. I'm not a game developer or anything but people who pour years of their life into something they're passionate about is incredibly inspiring to me, especially since it's so difficult to come across that energy nowadays. Good luck on your endeavors and I hope you come through with it, because from what I know gamedev can be really challenging but what you're doing is very special and I hope it works out for you in the end! Personally, as someone who struggles with living in the present, the outro of TRUST CEREMONY really hits home and always brings me to tears. I'm constantly so worried about the future and where I'll be in the next couple decades that I never feel comfortable living in general, but this song is a good reminder that no matter where I am in life, what's important is that I'm still living. It may not be that big of an accomplishment to others, but merely striving to become the better 'you' and being self-aware and feeling good about it is something we should all work towards, even if it's only a miniscule step in the long journey ahead. What I like about the final verse of this song and how I interpret it is that, it isn't 'enforcing' you to have a positive outlook on things all the time perse. It's unrealistic, and it knows that. Instead, it comforts you by firstly stating that whatever you do in life is exclusively your decision, and that you should be happy that you've been given this freedom. Be glad that you're even present at all. It isn't extensively seeking results by forcing you to act a certain way, it's only hoping that you get better, and I feel that's far more effective than any other song that tries to cover this sort of topic. "No one can make you stay, I just hope you smile in this one!"
