What fun! I recognize so many of the tunes! The organ sounds so good! And, it's in tune!

The Late Richard Preston, had one of the finest collections of Organs and fairground related memorabilia in the UK. I was once invited to one of his, 'open days' with the fairground association of Great Britain in the 90's, and I had never seen such a fantastic collection like it before, and I doubt I shall never have the pleasure of ever seeing such a sight again, all housed in one giant building. STUNNING.

Love this arrangement so much that I’ve transcribed it for classical organ, minus a few notes which are not humanly playable!! 😂😂😂 Great fun for an encore!! Thank you again for all the joy this organ and arrangement have brought me!! 💕💕 Adrian again, in Bermuda!

Old Thunderguts at full shout! There's no other organ quite like it. One of Andrew Pilmer's best arrangements, too. Thanks David. I was at Stourpaine, at one of the legendary 8-day rallies, in 1987, when Bill Jonas first presented his almost rebuilt 110-key Gavioli. I was operating the 110, giving Jory Bennett a break for a couple of hours, and the two big organs were taking turns to entertain the nighttime crowd. The Jonas organ was beaten, hands down, for sheer power (only part of the Bass pipes were operating) and (at that time) a much wider music repertoire. Each organ has its qualities, of course. To my mind, Judith Howard did a fine job of voicing the Violins on the ex-Jonas organ, and they sounded better than the late Dick Preston's Gavioliphone, but that's subjective, of course. It's such a crying shame that the Jonas organ is now in a museum in the USA. At least Jasper's team seem to be taking good care of it.

Hi David, I've been out and about recording sound effects for some time for a community theatre play and looking for a seaside fair ground organ. Going to a seaside fairground just doesn't do it these days... you need to know where to look... and then here it is. Would you have any objection to me using a small portion of this wonderful recording?

Amazing! I'm currently doing a Masters (Cambridge School of Art.)project on the seaside town of Sheringham. I'm making a picture book/comic, based on my family history there. If I have time I'd like to animate my drawings. I wonder if at all possible, I could use at least one of these songs, for at least one short animation? Hope that's okay.

Gavin Sutherland, the composer of 'Sailing', denies it has anything to do with the sea, despite its strong maritime imagery and use in Navy pageants. He is quoted as saying: "Most people take the song to be about a young guy telling his girl that he's crossing the Atlantic to be with her. In fact the song's got nothing to do with romance or ships; it's an account of mankind's spiritual odyssey through life on his way to freedom and fulfillment with the Supreme Being."
