Did you remove the daily gratuities charge as suggested by Travel journalist Simon Calder, to send a clear message to Cunard. It seems odd that it's a very British product that's operating a very American style of tipping for everything.

I get what you're saying and when you are used to P&O or MSC with no gratuities needed, as we are, it can definitely be a shock. If we have to pay them with a cruise line such as Royal or Celebrity we like to pre-pay with the balance before we sail. But, yeh tips added to an onboard account and rising daily isn't great but we don't remove them

@@niceshipcruising this will be our first trip coming up & I found it rather annoying that the agent made no mention of these extra charges when booking. We will be removing the daily charge and see how it goes as to individual tipping. Now we know & as its dampened our pre-trip enthusiasm, I'd be surprised if we rebook.

@@Bears69 Plenty of people do remove the tips so it shouldn't be a problem for you, the staff at the customer service desk ( or pusers desk ) are usually very polite. It would be a shame if it spoiled things for you so our advice would be to do it early on in the trip so you can forget about it and get on with enjoying your holiday
