The winter down here in Australia in the southern hemisphere has been pretty slow. So when i saw a big enough swell with right winds heading to Shipsterns I rallied up a team. Including 12 year old brothers Loci & Ballin Cullen both coming from my village of Avalon. And bodysurfers Corey Sainsbury & Caitlin OCallahan. How it all pans out created a very adventurous trip. Enjoy

What a great inter-generational surf trip, so valuable to raise kids like this, just like humans have been doing since we hunted large animals with wooden spears - guided by the older family members, doing something fun, scary, outdoors, and just so healthy. Brilliant.

I agree with Polly ,70 year old Tasmanian and can't ever remember a winter so mild, obviously not in the briney though, still keep you on your toes. The excitement of the punters and the nippers was as beautiful to experience as your photography and edit,Thanx Tim .

The super clear images of the super gnarly slabs really captured the technical mastery of the guys so beautifully. Good on the boys for getting out there amongst this mighty energy. Great work Tim

The best thing about that footage was the fact that it was all paddle , no mechanical. Kept it so real. Well done Tim, always love your work. You always bring something to the table. Well done whipper snappers and body boarders (particularly Corey first up in the line up) for having a crack! No mean feat. Keep doing what you're doing.... Cheers

What's a good swell size for there? 3.5m / 4 m swell with NNE winds? I recently visited tassy for a wedding and loved it there. The east coast was offshore all day and I was itching to explore. I bodyboard in west oz at waves like the Box, boodjidup, north point etc so genuinely asking about swell size for shippies. Maybe 4m with a nne wind?
