Ships of Science

Ships have been a critical part of Australia's scientific endeavours in Antarctica for more than a century - from Douglas Mawson's 1911-14 expedition, to the arrival in Hobart of the world's most powerful icebreaker, RSV Nuyina, in late 2021.
