Aaah, a fellow Montrealer! What fun coincidence. I'm teaching myself Shir haShirim just now while trying what I've lately learnt of Yemenite chant rhythm. I'm allowing myself to be inventive with my trope, but my melody sounds pretty close to Sephardic versions. I'm starting a Master's on Hebrew Cantillation at McGill trying to quantitatively model and represent the melodic diversity in Cantillation around the world. Really, it's my excuse to be payed while researching, practicing, and being artistically inspired by as many kinds of Hebrew music as I can. But we'll have new methods for Musicology to show for it. And maybe some surprise insights!

Here, I will share the first closed parasha. In this recording, I sacrificed a bit of vocal comfort to pay more attention to my pronunciation. I'm not a professional singer, but it's enough so that I enjoy what I am studying! drive.google.com/file/d/1PATIxgMPJUs20oARu7atDQwcRFGL88Lk/view?usp=drivesdk
