Every MK soundtrack has its own unique charm, and this is OST is no exception. It gives me that traditional Japanese vibes for its beauty and its simplicity. And this being dedicated to one of the most recognizable characters in Mortal Kombat, it's just perfect. Also the addition of having a different "finish him/her" for every round was a great addition. The round 1 finish him of this stage has almost got me to shed a tear because of how beautiful it plays. So yeah, I may sound like a dork but it's whatever.

I think it's almost everything chinese traditional. For shirai ryu would make sense being Japanese, but I still can't tell if what I hear is a guzheng or a koto XD

Lin Kuei originated in China Shirai Ryu originated in Japan

@@kwerty9671 True... But Shirai Ryu branched out of the Lin Kuei around the original MK tournament time. The first scorpion was A Japanese ninja but a Lin Kuei member that branched out and formed his new " Shirai Ryu clan" The origin of this idea was interesting, The Sega Genesis manual of MK3 listed some bios of absent characters including Raiden and Scorpion. In Scorpion bio, it mistakenly stated that he is an ex Lin Kuei member. It was a mistake that the dev adopted later and brought the lore of Shirai Ryu branching out Lin Kuei. The original founder developed his own technique thus Scorp doesn't freeze but rather is great with the spear and fire magic.

I’ve heard people say that MK11 has a bad OST, but it’s really not that bad. This game is definitely going for a movie score kind of feel. The songs want to set the mood for the setting, instead of expressing character like other games. So I can definitely see why people like MK11’s OST, but I’m definitely more of a fan of hype fighting game OSTs like Guilty Gear and KOF.
