What gets me even more is at least in Tokyo (and I'm sure other parts of Japan?) There's Wendy's First Kitchen's (a local Japanese fast food chain that got acquired) everywhere. When I was there late last year they were actually doing the USA Wendy's Burger's promos which were just, exactly what she went over. Not sure where Fubuki (or I guess the actual person behind her) is from, because apparently there's 136 stores and 100 of them are in Kanto.

This has been successful, but McDonald’s lost $300 million trying to open in Japan this same year, so Wendy’s is taking it slow. No more than two Wendy’s First Kitchens exist at the moment.
