The village in the anime/visual novel “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni” or “When they Cry” in English, Hinamizawa, is based off of Shirakawa-go. Many of the landmarks of the village are seen in the anime/game. Truly a beautiful and picturesque place I hope I am one day able to visit ❤.

I'm so glad you wrote this, I was starting to think there were just places like this dotted over Japan. Higurashi was the first anime I ever watched when I was 14 and even know I'm not so into anime as a whole anymore, Higurashi - after 100's of shows - was still the best I ever watched. HIGHLY recommend to anyone interested

@blockchainshark13923 жыл бұрын
@Mustafa Hussein I did it alone because I would change cities immediately when I seen everything. I do not like to travel with anyone. Every 3 to 4 months I would fly home to handle business then fly back and back at it. Also it's important to stay away from tourist areas. Those areas never give you a true experience of the locals. It's very safe travel alone but beware coming out of airports, and tourist areas. many scammers there come up to you pretend to be friendly. If they seem to friendly to quickly then be very wary. I had many scams tried on me. They will try to take you somewhere Also when you get in the taxi they will ask you if it's your first time there. They are not being kind they are trying to judge how easily they can take you somewhere to scam you. If you tell them you have been there many times and you do not wish to talk further they will give up and leave you alone and take you to your proper destination. Never tell any taxi or Tuk Tuk driver it's your first time. Oh and if they don't use the meter on the taxi you can be sure your paying 4 times price regardless what he tell you. Each country has phone number you can call if they hassle you about this. Their govt knows taxis scam. Once you tell the taxi driver you will call this number with his ID card he smartens up real fast and gets scared of losing his License. You can meet locals my downloading the local chat app and shaking for people who are near and just message them or even Tinder or go to the local mall. In the streets find an attractive girl and just ask if she speaks English and you need directions. I had many wonderful dates with hundreds of women all over the world doing this. They love to practice English with you and hear your journey. Almost everyday I would meet new friends if you make the effort . Enjoy !

Im planning to move to Japan, its still at least 3,5 years until then. Some people asking why. There is sooo many reasons why, but this one is enough alone. Imagine you wake up at the morning, you go outside next to the creek, you sit down, eat your rice and meat, with some vegetables. You sit back and rest a bit more, get up and start working around the house, get some firewood ready for the next meal. No running. No calls. No mobilephone notificiations. No deadlines. i dont understand why most people seem to regard happiness as a sort of ultimate goal in life. we often hear people say "I want to be happy" but in all honesty being happy isnt all there is to life. we can avoid, reject,ignore, or runaway from negativity but it would still remain an existence within us. there are balance in all things which is similar to nature and just aiming only on attaining happiness wouldnt guarantee a sense of fulfillment if you exclude other factors and aspect in life.

I feel the same. I don't resent their monoculture, for treating me as an 'other' or an 'outsider'. Being a monoculture of great beauty has a trade off and I don't feel angry about it. I'm treated very well when I'm in Japan however I don't romanticise the culture, history or the citizens either-- I know there's a darkness there too which only an 'insider' can see or comprehend. But I could weep with gratitude for the people, landscape and culture, I love Japan. The only thing that angers and disgusts me is their clinging to face masks. People are so easy to control. I wonder what folks are waiting for when it comes to binning their masks? Nobody can give me an answer, they get horribly defensive instead. Like most folks, I've had my three jabs and actually have had Covid so I think it's time to let the masks go otherwise we'll be hiding behind them anti-socially forever. In tandem with lives lived increasingly on social media, it's a profoundly worrying psychological, social and cognitive development. Each to their own, but I just felt compelled to let out my frustration which I normally suppress in daily life.

The owners of the property in the 1960-1970s were Japanese and the house is situated between mountains in a small river valley. This warms my heart and takes me back home in a very interesting way. I went a few years ago at the end of Summer and I would love to see it in Winter. From what I've read it's even more magical when it's covered in snow.

Здесь когда то жили люди. Интересно было бы посмотреть на деревню в которой живут сейчас. И если такие деревни в Японии в наше время.
@aidagiz20072 жыл бұрын

@user-gy6ew4ob5n Жыл бұрын
