@@honeydroptheunicorn6557 when a dog is setting boundaries they are basically saying that they are the boss around, if they have a young Male puppy he will try to fight and take the throne, but since Kiki isn't Male or a dog Shiro will only have to say that he's the alpha and nothing will happen because Kiki won't fight back. In my experience, male dogs only have to make those boundaries when the puppy is younger, but a female dog will do this forever. And since Kiki is not a dog she kinda don't understand that she would be fighting back so this will stop very fast.

Kiki gotten so big. I don't know about having her around Shibas they're ancestors were hunters I'm sure it's instinct to hunt. You're brave to have her around these dogs. I'm afraid for her. With Shiro BTW. I own a shiba. She is 13 years old. Very stubborn breed. But they're very smart They have cat like characteristics. Very clean and independent. She is loving loves kids and people. But with other dogs not too much. We take her for walks everyday and the dog park a few times per week. She sees any small animal and there she goes trying to get it. Even Birds.

If dogs continually experience that growling doesn't work either because no one listens or if they get punished for it, they stop doing it. That's how you get all of the "dog bit without warning" episodes; you have successfully removed one of their warnings between annoyance and bite, and humans (and other animals) are really bad at reading the subtle hints of dog body language. A dog never growls for no reason. Why is he angry now? Was Suki in heat at that point? The three of them should not be in that situation.

Shibas are not a "toy breed", all the contrary, they are a strong, primitive , ancient breed, with strong predatory instincts , accumulated with senturies of people breeding them for hunting pupuses. Japanese describe them as little "Samurais" with strong temperament and vigilant dignity. So, you can't simply erase these strong innate instincts in such a powerful, beautiful dog, just because you want them to. They will allways see a pray, as a pray, being a strong predator, if you like it or not. You should respect their nature, otherwise I recomend you to choose a puddle or somenthing more managable.

My stepmother was very much in to pets, so she decided where all the members of the animal menagerie would live. At one point they had a pet froggie in an aquarium with his own little island in the middle. And later a pet salamander they'd found while hiking in the woods. I like animals, too, but within tighter limits! No bunnies or froggies or salamanders running around loose, if you please! They did generate plenty of conversation, though, I'll give them that.

Gotta be honest I really don’t like you allowing Shiro to keep it up and not removing him from the room at least. I’m one of the people who has zero problems with introducing a bunny in the mix... it’s fine. But you can’t let a dog keep building like that. I know you know him best but you’re playing with a live wire here. It’s not really cute it’s just worrying here. Don’t know how far back this video was made so I just have to go on bunny’s no fear demeanor and assume it’s semi recent. One bite is all it would take man. Even you being that close wouldn’t be quick enough to stop.

I found this video on my recommended and I'm so scared for that poor bunny :/. She might not be afraid and I don't know why he's being aggressive towards her but his behaviour should be discouraged or one day Shiro might attack the bunny :/ and bunnies are very fragile and gentle, playful animals. They could die from fright or in this case if her spine is damaged by a bite :/. I'm surprised I don't see more people speaking out about this. The bunny's safety is important too.

@@Har0Id he is open to criticism when uploading these videos, especially when he's showing videos of his dog being aggressive to other animals and he does nothing to correct this behavior! The OPs comment was not rude in any way and was only showing concern. If this were a pitbull or other powerful breed instead of a shiba, people would be angry in the comments and wouldn't be laughing at this horrible behavior.

Another point of view is when you force a dog not to growl you are taking away their ability to warn you and others about how they are feeling, and when they cant take it no more they go straight to the biting. Growling is a warning, and its better to know the dog is reaching the end if his rope. And with shiro that rope is very very long

Male dogs are generally territorial so that’s what I think it is. It also could be a mix that he knows Suki is pregnant. He’s treating the rabbit like he’s treating The puppies. He’s doing the exact same thing he does with them. So I think it’s a mix of trying to teach the rabbit what territories are and him just generally being a grumpy unsocial dog.

One second of distraction is enough and Suki isn't bothered anymore by Shiro being close or snapping at Kiki. That bun maybe bold but they are fragile animals and they could have an heart attack with just one shock. @@srcoloma not me personally, but a close friend of mine. A super adorable, trained dog. She turned around to go answer the door and the lovely doggie went for the bunny in no time. And it wasn't the first time the two were together, both were used to eachother and no one was expecting the dog (never a bite to a person, nor another animal) to snap at the bunny. The dog "just" bit her back leck and wounded her (not lethally, but the fright was too much fo the bunny)

How is she so big in this video but still tiny in the video you posted the other day? Rabbits do not grow that quickly. Kiki needs something to dig in. If you don't provide it for her then she'll dig up your rug. A cardboard box with shredded newspaper (please remove staples) will work great for this. Please be careful with the wires on your table too. Once she finds them it can be hard to keep her away from them.
